Mine jumped quite a bit as well, thankfully my centers aren't that good just yet. Maybe I'll catch a break after this season when they all hit 100k and I promote to NBBA.. 'cause that's my only shot at retaining all 4 of them.

Geez, 330k salary, at least I'm still able to scout all the way.

im up to $ 397 699....
Only 14k arena and I did not have a winning season last season.. so. Basically unless I win my first few games I'm screwed.

For proof of how one can't take the BB World/Country Ranks too seriously (at least in my case), I went through to see how the system ranks the teams in each conference. Here are the teams, in order, with current Country Rank.

Just self-deprecation, really. I'd like to play at least one game here before being ranked that high. I'm afraid it might get into my players' heads (Ha!).

No sweat, I just didn't know which team you were talking about. And maybe you're right, you need to do something in Div II before you're ranked so high. That being said, if you come in here and start kicking butt, then I'll accuse you of false modesty :)

On another note, welcome to all the other new teams! I spent four years with What Cheer in Div III and was so used to seeing that team name it didn't even register to me that they just promoted.

Well its saying im dead last.. I don't believe I'll demote this season no but then again crazier things have happened.

I can't afford to demote, I'd have to sell my whole team.
So i'll CT if necessary.

No need to claim false modesty yet. Having said that, I was fully expecting to lose, since I knew Big Bucks would play Normal. That coupled with HCA would be too much for me to overcome without entering with an enthusiasm advantage or game shape, so I went TIE and had my best player come off the bench and play just 9 minutes.

All things considered, I don't know if this is a disappointing start (I mean, it's a 22-point loss in a TV game...), a promising start (suboptimal lineup, enthusiasm and HCA disadvantage), or neither. I'm going with neutral: you can't judge managerial quality until at least two weeks in when differences in enthusiasm and game shape finally have a chance to increase... but that's still a shitty result and I had my 30-game regular season win streak snapped. ;-)

Anyone else get a brutal 1st round draw? And are also a starter down thanks to an injury from that thug Joe Kessler from the Luchadors? Could be a brutal start to the season.
