im not so sure its a stamina problem because i have a player in a very similar situation to yours single position training three players a week and atrocious stamina and so far havent had a problem getting him 48 minutes unless he fouls out

my trainee has stamina respectable, but in spite of everything he only played 47 minutes...

Could just be bad luck does it happen every single time or just a few times a season?

I have explained this problem about 10 times in the forums under different threads. In your case it seems to be a stamina problem.
