Wait a second, to collect 10 points for the allstar break I have to wait in scouting with the investment 10k for a 5 weeks. Well, that sucks:)

It might have been said, but what will happen with the money that is being invested at the moment? Will it be turned into points?

Charles, go back to school! :p

It will take me a while to make sense of what you have written... you are as cryptic as ever.
This is the part I like the most:
You can spend 10 points at any point after the...

Good to hear that we can finally know the height of the draftees :)

Two questions:

1) Are we still going to continue to receive 14 points free, as under the old system?
2) My reading of the post was that it would require 1 + 2 points, or 3 points to double-scout a player, as opposed to 2 points under the old system? Is this correct? If so, are there plans to adjust the costs or number of points available, or are we just stuck with a 50% increase to the cost of double scouting as our tradeoff for not double scouting all those 1*/2* players?

Unlike in the previous system, however, there will be no free scouting points given out because we are instead giving the baseline rankings.

It was sitting right there ready to be read.

Yeah should be good. Seems a little confusing to me though. The way they describe it seems to indicate to me that there is no point in spending any scouting points until after the allstar break because you can spend 10 points at the all star break and get all the players ages and heights. So no point wasting scouting points before then.

It depends upon what you're trying to optimize. Learning earlier whether the top picks in your initial rankings are talented lets you make better decisions about how much money to invest in scouting, because if you end up needing 28 scouting points, it's cheaper to buy 2 each week than to buy 3 some weeks and 1 some weeks.

So, the idea is that there is some tradeoff between spending points earlier and waiting until after the combine, but it's still a system that you can ignore until the day before the draft and get reasonable results.

But isn't this just important for the first season, to get a feeling about the initial guess of the system and their variance?

Or did, you make the draft projektions always on the same level, and let you finds gems even in the mediocore projected picks or in weak draft waterboys with very high projections because they look great in comparision to the other crappy players.

As said in the news post, you will not get 14 points free in the new system. In return you will get the baseline rankings that should give you rough information on all players.

About your other question, in the old system the scouting of players was random. You had no influence which players were scouted once, twice or not at all. This meant that you were just lucky if you managed to get a second scout on a 5 star player, and that you were unlucky if your 1 ball player got scouted twice to confirm he wouldn't be anywhere near the top of your draft list.
In the new system you can decide which players you want to scout first, and which players you want to invite for a private workout. This means that you can get more usefull information for the same price.
So I don't think you should compare just the costs of double scouting a single player here, you should compare the overall value of information you will get at investing x amounts of money over a season, compared to last season. This overall value will most certainly be a lot higher in the new system than in the old one.

and another question:
if i spend 10 points after allstar, can i scout all players for 2 points, or need i spend 1+2 points?

If you want to scout a player for a private workout, you always have to watch this player play a game before. So in total this will always cost you 3 points. The extra option after the allstar break of getting the height and age of all players is will not change this.

I don't want to discuss about the new system but I want to say that is not acceptable to have a big difference among II.1 - II.2 - II.3 - II.4; I mean that in our division the best player drafted is an 8k salary with potential 8, in another division the best player drafted is an 3k salary with potential lvl 6. To be fair the system must have more or less the same players.
My merchandising has been really low in the last 2 season, when I posted in bug forum the answer was that I didn't train my drafted players. If this is the only reason why I'm loosing 40k/week from the best one I'm sure that this game should give me the possibility to pick a trainable player. This season I had quite a good choice the only problem is that he has 19 yo so this is a waste of money and time try to make him a decent player for my team.

At the end, what I'm saying is that you can change everything but a lot of people will continue to not invest money in scouts if there is the possibility to pick as BEST player, a player with 4k salary potential lvl 6. I don't understand how you can make the random decides something that is strickly related to the economy
