He wasn't having a go at you. He was just providing some advice and trying to help. We know you are new and still learning. I recommend that you read the guide in this forum if you haven't done so already.
Also remember that you will receive 50k extra every week for the first month to help you get started.
Just browse the transfer list occasionally and if you see a player you like going for cheap then try and pick him up :)
Goodluck :)

I got this guy for $2000 a month ago:

Tárcio Figueira (14626138)
Power Forward

Weekly salary: $ 4 012

DMI: 36600
Age: 19
Height: 6'10" / 208 cm
Potential: starter
Game Shape: proficient

Jump Shot: mediocre Jump Range: pitiful
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: mediocre
Driving: atrocious Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: respectable

Experience: atrocious

Obviously not a world-killer, but he is very solid. Currently, players like him sell for 2000-9000, according to his transfer price estimate, so I didn't get a ridiculous bargain or anything. Do a transfer list search for players with IS, ID, and RB all at least average, 20yo or younger, current bid less than 10k. I get 22 players, a couple of those should sell for cheap and do well for you.

well yea ive been thinking about buying those kind of players but i waz also thinking to see how my current team works out and since the sucky teams in my division are inactive and im 6th in great 8 i could get some pretty decent players in the draft or a decent center with at least average in the 3 main skills

You may very well get better players in the draft, but that's a ways away. You might hold off from spending 100k+ on any player until then, but if you can upgrade for 10k, there's no reason not to.

btw how do you do a draft pick? like is there a certain amount of time until the computer just picks for you? and do you have to wait for other teams to pick?

Draft happens at the end of the season. You submit a draft order, and the computer does all of the picks based off of your rankings.

Don't get an unbalanced player like that. Pitiful SB is worse than having a player with an easily trainable skill like rebounding.

I just sold a player like that, that I was training since 19, by the time everything else was at strong, his training was so slow it made baby snails cry.
