i like this case, and maybe some guys who always play normal could test it in the off season or search some botgames who faced each other twice in the last week to see if there isn't a dynamic factor into the calculation of the seed.

I believe one thing still was/would change. A little and imperceptible thing. Maybe it's so small, it does not change? Experience

good point :) So in this case the impact of Xp was so small that it don't change any decision, which should be a rare scenario.

Yep you're right. For what i know, the "random" doesn't exist in the computer world, because every time you hear somthing like "randomatic system" it's based on an algorithm/function; a very complicated one but still an algorithm, so if you put inside the same parametres/numbers you will keep reciveing the same result.

Most advanced randomatic systems are based on the fluctuation of a single subatomic particle, basically on it's quantum mechanics.

It seems that more numbers are needed for the seed value. Or that the seeds need to be resown more often than once a game.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Or exists a unique seed for all the games, but the match engine has more input variables which are used while simulating the game. For example. he has to choose who starts the game, based on starting lineup, using a random number generated with that seed. If the starting lineup is changed, even if the same number is generated, another player may won that ball.

From a programmer prospective...I don't think anyone will use a number derived from gs...lineup or what so ever as random seed, there is no reason to use the random function then...as it will be a fixed and predictable outcome (in other words why don't we just use the number). It is a really funny phenomenon though...and I would kill to know why...either the game engine is a way more determined system than we thought or it is really an interesting bug...

I believe someone already mentioned that it was a bug.

I prefer it is a bug...but on the other hand, it is an efficient and reasonable way to build the system...generate a random factor once other than hundreds of times for one game, use the random factor when needed. In most cases, user will not notice any difference (generate one random factor or 1000), and identical matches will be discovered only from two teams with identical status (unlikely) and two identical random factors (unlikely), which is improbable but not impossible. And even if we generate the random factor 1000 times for each game...it is still improbable (very) but not impossible to generate identical games of two identical teams...
