The point is to create a gap between groups of teams. To create a group of top tier teams down to new teams. Increasing training gives us better skilled players faster. These players would be bought by teams in the higher divisions(because they can afford it). This way every team in BB isn't going after the same player skill sets. Normal training isn't too slow, the training rate increase just speeds along a process that would have happened eventually.

It is not that simple. Fast training will produce a combination of skill level and age that will not be attainable once training slows back down. Call it unfair advantage if you wish.

I would hope that they would return to regular training rates at a gradual rate. Otherwise, I think you're right.

why change the training speed at all?

The divide is already starting when you see the transfer bidding for the new free agents only day traders or established teams with decent capacites can afford to buy and retain after the new salary updates...

anyone attempting to create a mega team in IV or V too soon will surely have to be the worlds greatest DT or have a miracle 22-0 season and manage their finances perfectly.

I also think for the next waive of people joining the game, they have to feel they have the ability to close the gap.

Fast training does this at younger ages as the more established teams will find it hard to blood in 18-19yo when they have amazing 21-23yo that they have trained for 3-4 seasons.. if you have a good cup run up to the allstar game you only have 1/2 a season of scrimmages to put in the real youngsters...

I vote for keep the speed.... if people are going to struggle then let it be because they fail to manage their salaries and then are forced to put players on the TL until they have a better cash flow... or i fear people will quit if it becomes a 'marathon not a sprint'

There has to be a trade off to those that have helped raise the profile of the game in the early stages but big enough incentive for someone to start afresh pick up train 3-5 guys quick and start competing... bottom line is if someone starting 1-2 seasons before starts to get beat by a noob then they have started their BB career in the wrong waym regardless of training speed.

Not true. Currently the training rate(young) is 2x the normal rate. It will slowly be brought down to 1.5x the normal rate where it will not go down any further. I don't believe it is that great of a slow down in training.

Another question related to age/skill development, will players begin to drop off after a certain age? And is there a possibility of older players retiring on their own, without you firing them?

Yes some players will begin to drop off in skill when they are in their low 30's. I have a crappy 33 year old player who has dropped in various skills the past three weeks.

Currently players can not retire on their own.
