I think it's very important to have good defense, and i'm not saying it's not worth training, but that atrocious OD is very painful.

6/7 3P from US Centers, that actually cost us the game.

Ah it's not really that big a deal. He may get some secondary OD pops later anyway. He has a good bunch of secondaries to start anyway.

handling one position training?

And all of Australia is excited too, we have so few great big men these days and he could be great. Start single position training him right now 48+ every week. Get at least a level 4 trainer, if you can get fitness speciality or level 5 that is even better. I am sure whoever takes over the Australian team next week will be in contact.

i just got a trainer that is "exceptional"

so because i now have a trainer that is quite high, does this mean his skills will advance very quickly?

the levels aren't that big of a difference. You might get 1 pop or so extra a season.

Well, 1-2 pops a season, across 6 seasons of training, ends up being ~9 pops overall. That puts him about a season ahead, which is a pretty big deal for hall of fame potential. You can easily use a level 4 or 5 if you're training perennial allstar or superstar, as you can just train them for a little while longer to make up the difference. But when this guy would get to that level, he would be too old to train well.

You also have to take his age into it, as he get older training slows down, so if he get's 1 extra pop when he is 18, he might only get 1/2 pop at 23 or so.

I was just trying to point out that it only 1-2 pop's, just in case he is expecting 5+ pop's a season and he will be disappointed when that does not happen.
