I actually found one from Belgium at ~5300, but he may be NT material for all I know (I suppose I should mention that he's a SG).

I'm quite certain the threshold is ~$5,500

What position?

Above $6000 it was about 90% C and SG.

I couldn't tell you which position everyone was that I listed, and at this point, I can't be bothered to go through them all again trying to find out. Lots of Centers and SGs, perhaps a PG or PF. Don't really recall.

Are there different wage thresholds that are dependent upon the player's best position?

I have suggested in the past that there should be. A threshold of $6000 will catch quite ordinary centers that almost any club team could have; while a $6000 PG may be NT material in many countries.

I went through the TL with PG with passing at respectable+; and C with IS and ID above respectible. For the most part the threshold appears to be $6000, and perhaps $5400 for 18 and 19 YO. There were a couple of PG who were way below these levels, but they were NT members.

But there are some FA under $6000, who aren't NT members, and aren't young. Maybe, they are using a prospective salary. It isn't that unusual to find a FA with skill pops, which indicates that they have had at least 5 weeks training at some skill, which could drive their salary above $6000 at the next salary update.

Last season when they first instituted FA releases with a threshold of $4000 was before the All-Star Break. There were tons of FA at that level. They then increased it to $6000, and there were much less (in the the USA it went from dozens to a handful each week). After the salaries were updated at the All-Star break, there were a few more each week.
