have you set your trainee as backup and reserve? If you don't, the coach does assign these at will, even with strictly follow depth chart...

Yes, and he still only got 33 minutes. Presumably this was because I won by 50 points.

I always list my trainee as all 3 positions if he's in there by himself. though it ultimately needs to be fixed, I just accept it in due course for now and adjust for it in my 3rd game.

Thanks, just looked it up myself. I admit being surprised, as I have little problems getting my trainees their minutes with similar lineups, as long as they don't foul out (which would be the only reason why they would leave the game early).

Absolutely, that is the game. I just looked at the replay and he was injured at 33 minutes. My bad. I had two other games in which Alankar Vijayan was replaced after playing 46 minutes so I assumed this was another case of the same.

yeah, in blowouts, setting a player as starter, backup and reserve is crucial.
