This is a game.. The engine wont simulate the "mindset" of your players. Its all about production on the field.
TIE means your Team wont put as much effort into play as normal, which leads to worse Offense and Defense.
If you play more TIE your motivation goes up and at some point playing TIE with higher motivation(8+) is as effective (or more) than playing normal with 5 motivation(standard).
For the SF-Problem:
I prefer high OD and bit lower ID for my basics.
The rest depends on the playstyle.
If you like to play Inside, you should get more driving/inside shot etc.
Shooter skills should be pretty obvious..
If you have enough money in the bank you can get good help from the transferlist. Look for Players older than 25 for instant help (a lot cheaper because they "cant" be trained anymore), they wont decline until age 30+.
