So then you just have to weight that against the amount of pops it would take for the 18 yo 4 ball to be as good as the 19 yo 5 baller. I doubt the difference comes out to anymore than 5-8 pops. Extremely significant if youre trying to make a U21 player, but is it all that significant if youre trying to build a team?

of course........every pop counts!5-8 pops could mean the difference in a 58 Total Skill Points (19yo) guy then a 66 Total Skill Points (19yo) guy.....

like for example,
Player A is 5/6/3/2/7/6/-/6/7/5/7
Player B is 4/7/4/4/3/5-/8/10/8/9

Efficiency is the difference my friend.........player B would manhandle player A.

this is just an example.

There are pops and there are pops. If, for example, the 19 year old was a 6'11 player with all of his guard skills at average or above and decent starting big man skills, and the 18yo was a 7'4 donkey with atrocious skills all over the place, that's a gap that'll never get made up (and that too few people would even care about). And if you're looking to build a team, you'll be far better off with a more well-rounded player trained intelligently than jumping on the donkey treadmill.

Of course, ideally you find an 18 year old with the skill and potential to be a great player - and then get the 19 year old in the second round and then possibly have two guys to build around.

Well at that level, yes the difference is large. But the more you train both players the smaller that gap will seem. With the two players head to head, yeah the 18 yo is going to win that matchup. But in terms of putting together a team, The difference between those two players, once trained, wont ever be the difference between you promoting or not.

i drafted 18 year old and 19 year old pg's 5 seasons ago, training them together. their skillgap used to be 8 skillpoints, now it is 2:D so age actually has no significant effect, unless you planing to train for u-21. i also have to mention that 19 year old is higher too.

Age has a significant effect, in your case it was just overshadowed by another significant effect, height.

Are you honestly stating that you trained 2 PG in guard skills, got both of them the same training minutes every week and the 6'4 19 year old trained faster than the 6'0 18 yo?

Is it worth getting a 19 year old 5 star 5 potential player? I want to know if it is best to find an 18 year old instead despite those ratings.


guess the question is if u wat to train him or u want to make money. what about his boxscore? his height? of course he is worth training imo, if you just want to.

No, hes saying that he drafted the 19yo 6'4 and 18yo 6'0 guy at the same time, at that time they were 8 skills points difference, now it is only 2 skill difference, but the 19yo is still ahead by those 2 points.
