I would interview the guys you have. Potential is the main thing and by doing that you will have 2 or 3 real good options.
Be a shame to spend all that money and get someone with no potential to train.

Spend the 16 points on interviewing all of them and order them as best you can. I was in a bot league like you last season and got my 2nd pick at 16th spot and got an even better player I had not interviewed with my 2nd pick. Lucky I got him. Had I interviewed him he would of been my 1st pick.

Potential is more important then current skills. With the 8 guys who have decent starting skills you will find 3 maybe 4 of them are 4 or 5 ball potential and worth getting.

A 5 ball 1 ball guy is a waste of money and time. A 4 ball 5 ball guy would be much much better draftee.

Thanks again to you all, guys! I followed your advice and already discarded 3 of the players because of 2 balls potential. I got a 4 ball potential with grade rating A.

And the 5th interviewed draftee is like this:

4 balls Star Rating, 3 balls Potential, B+ grade rating, 18 years old. Would you pick him among first choices? Potential is not so good, and I don't know what the B+ means...

3 balls means he wont be able to get to a decent level to be anything then a back up in a decent level league.
He would not be really bad but would max out potential at about the 20 to 30k range.
B- means he is the bottom end of 4 balls in skills.

4 balls potential means he is premenal allstar or superstar which means you can get his salary upto and a bit over 100k and be a starter in the top leagues. Most my players are prem all star including my 100k C. Def the best guy you have listed and would not be a bad pick up unless his height is real bad. How tall is he and what position is he listed at? This is also something to consider.

So I will discard the 3 balls potential draftee, thanks for the info (:

About the other one, is a PG, 188cm. It's perfect for me, because I'm training OD for PG (:

@Wolph: Great post!

Those type of players are high risk high reward. Perfect scenario is that they have good outside skills and ok inside skills and can make them a SF or PF (if you don't want to train them too much out of position). Worst case scenario is they have poor inside skills so they are too tall to train as a guard and skills are too low to train as a big man.

Position is determined by the skills - not height - so it's obvious that those scouted players have good PG skills and lousy big men skills. I think in the second scenario you mentioned they are trainable. They (inside trainees) will have good secondaries at the end.

188cm is good for a PG. being a PG means he has decent skills in Driving, Handling and Passing. As a rough guide.
Sounds like a good player to train up.
Hope you get him.

Its not always obvious. A player listed as a PG could have mediocre type inside skills or Pitiful inside skills and you wouldn't know.

can I jump into the question?

right now I got 0 points

partly because I did the scouting combine like a couple of days ago and well, found about 6-8 guys that are in my height range (6'7''+ for training a Big) that I will scout. Is the 4 points per week worth it or not? I usually do 3 pts a week, 4 more weeks left in the season=4 players to evaluate.

Now my MAIN question is, will the 4th point help? Or just stick with 3 points/20k a week?

Hmmm... I'd say the 4th point will give you 1 more point than 3 points. ;)

Economically, it doesn't make sense, as that last point is very expensive. Over time it is not advisable.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.
