there you have England's problem in a nutshell, there are no standouts in that list.

Given the entire roster is much of a muchness, I'd give the armband to a regular starter who consistently sets an example in terms of game shape. I'm guessing that makes MacKay favourite?

I'd have to say my personal favourite would probably be either Mackay or Sharpling. Sharpling may have taken the steps needed last season to become that standout we've been lacking.

sharpling was the other one I thought of, I've tried to buy him myself but always been outbid!

My vote is for Coates. Always performed well for me. MacKay would be my 2nd choice.

So the official ballot for NT Captain(1 vote apiece please)

A) Brendan Mackay
B) Connor Anderson
C) Alan Sharpling
D) Niall Coates
E) Alan Pohlman

My personal vote goes for Alan Sharpling.

And the unfortunate cuts for week 2 of camp:
Mark Simpson-His D came to play every day, but the English NT wants to put some points on the board and entertain their fans, and for that Simpson is a no-no.
Terrell Hongs-The reverse of our friend Mark, Terrell shot just a bit too much at camp. He just couldn't accept being 2nd fiddle behind Sharpling as our top gunner and now he's packed his bags and is headed home.
Warren Stewart/Elmo Antonio Armada-Yep these guys only get one post, I could barely distinguish them from Connor's shadow the entire week and now they're gone again.

And that's it so far, only 4 guys. Leaving 25 guys fighting for the opening roster. Many of these decisions will come down to GS and depend on what sort of offense/defense we're playing in our opening games.

Also just a quick note-All commentaries here are mostly just to liven it up a bit, anybody who even gets mentioned here is a great player.

Coates, but only if he'll be a regular starter. Otherwise MacKay.
