I guess this is where I jump off the hate-wagon and start convincing myself he's going to be good again, right? And Reimer will be the leagues best back up for the next two seasons until he's ready to start? And we didn't have to give up Bozak AND Kadri for him?

Right?

RIGHT?!

Unconfirmed! The players do not vote until Saturday so there is no chance that it is announce prior to that.

Honestly I do see it happening but I suspect people are jumping the gun here. The current CBA is not official until both the govenors and players vote on it.

Yeah, everything I'm reading is that this is a hoax started on Twitter by a fake profile of a Toronto Sun employee. It's come from a couple new sources since then, but no one credible enough to sell me 100% on it. If the CBA is approved tomorrow, this could be legit, but everyone seems to be saying Saturday with camps starting Sunday, so we won't know until then.

If it is legit, it's more than I thought Vancouver would get for him, but I'm probably OK with it as a Leafs fan. I want to keep Kadri, so that all but guarantees we'll give up Bozak, I've come to terms with that. It sucks giving up on Frattin, but I'd rather ship him than Gardiner.

I guess he did not want 7uongo :)

Maybe he is setting up to be the next commisioner, seriously that is my theory. Once Bettman quits or gets fired, Burke will be the man.

The leafs have no need for Luongo, Reimer is fine for them. Burke is a great GM, he's just been the victim of circumstance too many times. Toronto is too demanding of a market. What surprises me most is that they're keeping him as a senior advisor. He'll be back as a GM in the NHL within a few seasons.

Burke would make a great commissioner, he can actually handle the hatred everyone gets as commissioner. Who decides when Bettman is done as commissioner?

Anyways, excited for the season to start. Go Oilers even though they'll probably miss the playoffs again this year. Another good pick doesn't hurt.

Yes a victim of circumstance.
let's see, the Leafs made the playoffs how many times in his stay?
NONE!
So, who created that circumstance?
Welcome to hockey, miss playoffs, get fired.
And..senior adviser just a title, they still have to pay the guy.
He's already said it won't have anything to do with players.
