I think the feature is good

obv bbmarin isn't up 2 redoing all the code so they r finding smart & easy ways 2 fix the balance

sb hich hurts LI is cheaper

jr that helps outside tactics is cheaper

running li/m2m every week may now get u a 5% penalty

its all moving the balance a little bit away from just running li/m2m every week like 75% of the abbl did last season

Dont really believe its LI thats the issue here. M2M is the issue. Team playing R&G for example, should find it easier to beat M2M. Teams should be using outside box or better imo. Anyway, I believe there are enough areas in the game, where someone can find an advatage. I do see it as a good thing in the begining, but not in the long run.

if they can correctly predict which strategy an opposing team will use, they can get in some last-minute practice and be stronger on the court.

A bit dubious of this one .... isn't this just effectively adding a "guess" component to a game that could give you an advantage?

Yes and no. What it means is that if a team ONLY plays LI & M2M, you can get a bit of an advantage over them if you choose to predict that and get a little advantage.

The question is though, should you be penalised for playing the same tactic every week?

If you want to play the same tactic every single game why should you suffer a disadvantage?

It is a good point. It is obviously designed to neuter LI/M2M teams but equally it will hurt teams that run R&G/FCP every week...if there are any.

There logic is probably "if a team plays the same tactic every week then an opponent will prepare for that tactic and therefore do slightly better against it". Which does logically make sense in the real world, but in BB world I think it just adds another random factor to the game and reduce the skill required to win the game.

I think it adds more skill to the game. You have to have a slightly more diverse team, so that you can throw in a different tactic every now and again, just to throw people off.

Sorry Trikster I agree with HAX here, having a team that is capable of playing multiple ways seems more interesting and fun that just building a LI team and playing the same tactic every week as I and most of the ABBL have for the past several seasons.

Completely agree, however achieving that by "guessing for a bonus" is NOT the way to achieve it. Having a well balanced roster that is capable of playing different styles is how to achieve it .... that is why I don't like it

Well I agree that it would be much better if 3-2 zone destroyed outide offences, 2-3 zone destroyed inside offences and man to man was a safe guess. They are completly unwilling to fix the 2-3 zone, probably the coding is too difficult although if it was written properly there would be sliders/variables that you could just adjust. As they are unwilling to fix the zones so they all work this is the next best thing.
