Well there's always the right level of skills for each level.

There's a statement I wish people would remember whenever they post. Newbie managers read these forums, too ... newbie managers with newbie rosters and newbie budgets. They see the big teams and big managers post about their big teams and big players and think that is possible for them. They are smart enough to learn it isn't possible, though, and a lot of them quit.
Everything that is being done in the top league can also be done in any lower league.

Well, yes and no. Suggesting to a newbie manager (not saying that you ever suggested this, Manon) that he should have 100TSP as his norm or that 15 JS needs at least 12 JR to go with it is not an idea that any newbie manager should take to heart.

First, thank you very much for this entire conversation.

What i mean more specific is that if you build a team in a certain way in the top league you can copy that exact same team and then adjust each level of skill to be suited for where you play.
Most of the time you can get really good players even out of allstar potential players if you only plan their training well.
So a newbie starts in Div V or maybe Div IV. Do we tell newbie managers that they should stay in that division as long as it takes to do these things? Should we? Should we tell them not to promote, not to move up and play against human managers?

And since theres a bigger market for those players then the top tier once you could make more money by training the lower potential once. They often sell for the same (unless the top player has some serious secondary levels) and the cost to buy/create them are lower as you wont need as high level on your trainer.
Spoken like a day trader. Unfortunately for me, I am trying to play this game as a basketball manager.

Bigger picture: do you begin to see the problem that I see with just trying to apply an upper division sneaker to a lower division foot? Lower division is not just a smaller, paler, cheaper, weaker version of the upper division. There are differences not just of magnitude, but qualitative differences that are all too often not taken into account.

What's the point in promoting only to get their ass kicked and relegated back down? Capping an all-star takes 3 seasons max, could even be serviceable for IV in a season, and in that one season that manager will be more prepared than when he started.

Sorry if that happened to you. It didn't happen to me. It is also irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

box1- is your best defender on his best player for the tactic, this doesn't always mean his best scorer. If he has a balance team. I don't think it possible to win outright with it, its depending on offensive outputs and the right type defensive players., unless that 1guy is 40-50% of the points on the foes squad. also your own offense is good, I think you can win.

it possible to win with box-1, if you have strong offense too, .. As far as defense I think you need balance defensive team with a 1~2 defensive specialist on it and offensive not so much, not saying don't have any, but it not the real factor, it mostly all defense.. And the same coming from the bench..

As far skill ,as how much Skill, gs. stamina exp. to make it work I don't know. ^^ Thats all I know so far.. I know you need a strong balance defensive team 1~2 specialist. I think its a very, very, very expensive tactic or defensive players that are very diversed in defensive skill.. with A cookie cutter players for box1..

I don't know how much defensive to point transition( turnover to points.. steals etc) play a factor. I don't now how much this will happen. But this part that needs to be looked into IMo. Once someone look in to that. You can pretty much know what to have in players from the D side and also offensive tactic to play to be effective.

Just know 1 man wont get it done playing box 1.

On this I completely agree. Sometimes Manon and others lose themselves in some bucolic idea of online gaming that does not exist. Nobody who's planning to compete will train players who can't help him compete at the next level. If you use Manon's logic, you're fine training role player or 6th man potential if you're in D5 and you should sell your HoF potential draftee because a HoF will not help you more than a role player or 6th man in D5, D4, D3 ecc ecc.
