Maybe fans should get angry when starters don't play in a league game. So it would cost money to the team.



Well, in my opinion fans already get angry a lot, even if you lose a game against a stronger team in OT. Still attendance drops and hasn‘t been solved in agood way (even if it was attempted). So yes, maybe it‘s a solution - but that would still not solve the cup issue. Shouldn’t the fans also get angry if you don’t play your star players in the cup? Really hard to solve, that one...

removing training minutes would obviously help the strong teams win more, but wouldn't change the fact that you can't use your best lineup 3 games a week (unless you win with a blowout every game)

to achieve that you'd need to play cup in arcade mode

It's not about fairness
You just can't play 3 games a week as a starter because of game shape
So you choose between giving up cup or 1 league game
