Actually a great training facility
Same here, can't say how many threads have I've opened like this. Last week my trainee got subbed out with 1:04 left on the clock, 1 minute shy of 48.

It's definately a bug, everyone just got so used to it and noone seems to care.

Still, you lose just 10-20 percent(I don't remember correctly) of maximum training, so it's not such a big deal.

I wonder if stamina could be the problem? It's pretty late now so I wouldn't really dig through my games in the past. But iirc I had plenty of games where I set orders for a few players to play for 48 minutes and none of them got subbed with the substitutes of other positions, even when I win big. Granted, I have always ran patient because I don't want my players to be subbed due to stamina issues.

Not sure if my latest match is a good example since I just dressed 6 players, but everything went accoding to plan despite wining by 55 points: (108668648)

I remember that number being lowered a lot. And by a lot I mean like 30% of a full training. Nobody knows exact I guess.

As far as stamina question - I feel like not that many youngsters have 6+ stamina, but never noticed a correlation looking at other positions.

Stamina is indeed the main issue here. Between two draftees I've had for over four seasons now, one with 6 stamina rarely gets subbed out when I don't want them to, whereas the one with 3-4* stamina is a lot more likely to be. My argument is that, if the lineup sheet specifically says to 'strictly' follow the depth chart, and we're winning by enough to remove any reason to go rogue for the sake of winning, stamina shouldn't be the issue that it is.

*level 5 nutritionist resulted in an eventual pop despite not training stamina.

Glad to know nutritionists gives stamina pops. I would certainly appreciate it rather than waste training weeks on stamina.

That said, can't be playing RnG or LI and expect your player who's gasping for air to continue playing right? It would be different if it was patient or Princeton, where the slow pace would not only allow your players to last longer. I've always stuck with these two if there are situations which I need to have 48 minutes on a trainee, and it hasn't failed me yet iirc.

Update:

My youngest played 44 mins, got subbed with starting C (???), couple minutes later, subbed back in after center got 5th foul. Youngster had 5 aswell.

Before you ask about stamina - its 4, but my year long trained player Hsiao has 4 aswell and never had that issue, even this week.

Strictly follow plan, all gaps filled, yada yada yada. It's something about fouls and I know its a bug

Got a point there, especially since you played patient, I doubt stamina mattered much in this particular game.

I decided to look back into my games from last season, and yes, you might actually have a point in it, because the only time I ever failed to get a full 48 minutes on a player meant to play the whole game last season (barring foul outs) seems to be when he had 5 fouls. Pretty sure he wasn't meant to be subbed since he's a trainee. I probably didn't notice coz he got enough minutes from other games I guess. So yes I guess you're onto something there.

I definitely agree with you , this is a bug, probably a side effect of the way the coach is designed, however there is a simple way to deal with it which no one has suggested in this thread yet.

If you want a player to get 48 mins, you need to put the player in as backup and reserve, but leave the starting position blank. The reason this works is because in blowouts, the coach naturally likes to sub out starters, but if the player was only slotted in as a backup, then the coach will be far less likely to take him out of the game.

A few details about this method:

- If there are no foul outs or injuries to your team, your player will be nearly guaranteed to get 48 mins. If you do have an injury or foul out, it can mess up the depth chart a bit; your player will still likely get 48 mins, but it's not guaranteed.

- The method works for up to 2 players. More than that, you have to modify the method, because if you leave 3 or more starting positions blank, the coach will just use a random lineup. For your case(3 players), what I would do is select the 1 or 2 players you need to get 48 minutes and use the blank starting method for them, while with the 3rd player, fill him in as a backup, starter and reserve. I've noticed as long as you use the blank starter method for 1 player, your other players will also likely get 48 minutes if you set them as starter, backup and reserve.

That's what I always do mate, this is why I'm saying its a bug. If this method worked I wouldn't be posting.

Coaches just don't follow game plans last minutes of blowout games, that's it

Just going to stop training Hsiao and train only two youngsters because of this. Don't want to mess up their training.
