That would be very cruel to newcomers, who hope just to avoid relegation and TIE the best teams in the league. If this was put in place, they would suffer a lot financially.

I disagree. Given the number of bots at the lower levels, you are talking about one, maybe two games where TIE at home isn't an option for a new team. I think the pros far outweigh the cons there.

It's not going to happen.
NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score

Mate, you're not the greatest communicator in the world. If I can be bothered to spend the time putting the case forward as to why I think a reasonable proposition is A Good Idea, I expect someone officially linked with the site to post a proper explanation as to why it's not under consideration. Not a one liner. There are plenty of other places on the forum to practice your one liners, I've done a bit of it myself lately, but I don't appreciate you responding in this manner on an official thread.

I wouldn't be against it either and I understand where you are coming from, but I just cant see it being put in the game at this point.

In theory it sounds good but in practice it would hurt start up teams.... If you could link it to fan expectations then you might have a viable idea...
If each franchise was given a goal for the season based on previous seasons results / cash (not sure on the variables but you know what i mean) then TIE vs someone much better than you (again although not right) shouldnt yield as harsh a punishment. TIE and losing vs a lower ranked or team with lower expectations than you should.
I'd certainly be in favour of this.

I like the idea of expectations - and I think (long term) it could be expressed in form of media previews. i.e. Your PR guy could provide you a report before each game, indicating supporter expectations.
"Local media outlets predict we will win by 6-10 points"
It is then up to you to meet or beat the expectations - and if you beat them there is a reward in terms of increased merchandising sales/season tickets/fan attendance for the next home game. TV games could be even more important magnifying effects by 50%. If you win anyway, but don't beat the spread, then there's no real downside - you've won, and that's what counts at the end of the day.
But if you lose a game you were expected to win (i.e. because you've TIEd) then the penalties then kick in.
If the expectation is that you will lose by 1-5 and lose by significantly more then 75% of the penalty could apply. If expectations is lose 6-10 and it's signifcantly more than 50% of the penalty could apply.
To get round the new team problem, if the expectation is that you will lose by more than say 10 points, then no penalty applies no matter how many you lose by - because the fans were expecting a hammering anyway.
It would take a good deal of trialling to get it to get the right parameters but once they've been worked out, I think it's workable.
The skill of your PR guy could influence how much leeway you have at missing expectations.
For instance with PR<5, you better get within, say, three points of the suggested spread (or beat expectations). For every rank above that, you get a point more leeway.
It would help make the impact of PR officers more visible. Any thoughts? (Preferably not 'It ain't gonna happen')

it is certainly a worthwhile idea and something to think about. As you mentioned, there would be quite a few parameters to hammer out. It would be a pretty large project.
However, I feel there are a few other major projects that would and are receiving priority over this. Not to blatantly and across the board compare BB to Hattrick, but the fan expectation system was just fully implemented in Hattrick recently. So, it was on a bit of the backburner.
That being said, I think you have a worthwhile idea with expectations, and I would personally like to see something along these lines implemented at some point down the line.

If it's considered a viable idea, I'm beginning to think of it now more as part of what your PR Officer brings to the organization, then personally I'm not fussed when it's incorporated - I think there are enough older users in BB England to understand the concept of development timetables - and how neverending they can appear to be sometimes!
BTW, I don't play Hattrick, so that's why I'm not citing it.

I like this idea, but I suspect that the BBs are already thinking about introducing it, since there will be a new staff system shortly. Given the (arguably) larger influence of the coach and team doctor on the actual performance of your team compared to the much smaller role of the PR Officer, the new staff system may well address this.
But maybe not. Good idea, though.

Well, I bought supporter, but don't rest on your laurels!
I'd like a transfer tool filter so that I can see all English players on the transfer market please.
