if this suggestion ever makes the list of implemented stuff, I sure hope they have cupfinals on neutral ground.
It is already killing to have to play a final at some other teams homecourt, if they get an advantage due to their fans as well the game doesn't need to be played anymore...

How about this formula:

Adjusted_attendance (noise level):

Sum (section_attendance * bleacher_price/section_price)

So bleachers count 100%. If the lower tier tickets are 3X the bleacher tickets, then fans in those seats count 1/3.

Arena_volume:

Arena_capacity + 1000.

The 1000 represents the area taken up by the court.

Relative_intensity:

Adjusted_attendance / Arena_Volume

Intimidation_factor:

Max (0, Relative_intensity - Threshhold_intensity)

The threshold intensity might be around 75%.

I believe the Cup semis and finals are already to be played on a neutral court.

NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

nope.
Played in the Black Hell today. Luckely we are the Bringers of Doom, and we like Hells so I could take home the cup, but I can guarantee you lost another couple years of my life. It is always anoying if a team with very weak outside offense starts hitting 3's against your good outside def, and your magnificent FT shooters suddenly seem to be able to miss their shots in the last 30 seconds. Fortunatly they kept their cool and hit enough FTs to keep the score level.

Anyway: in Belgium Cup final is at the hometeams' court... as was the semis, as was the quarters.

No sure I understand why different sections are counted differently.

Anyway, sounded like this idea was kind of DOA.

The fans in the luxury boxes are probably at the bar in the back doing business. They hear a loud commotion, and look out towards the court, "could someone close the glass, so we can talk" The people courtside are to there to be seen, not heard. Nicholson's not scary without the makeup. The fans in the lower tier are a little too comfy and polite.

well, then don't be surprised your club gets fined if such a thing happens in your arena!

I guess its a good idea, but I would factor in the percentage of the stadium, because yes some teams with big stadiums draw 10 or 11 thousand people, but those people only fill up a third of their stadium. You should get a bigger bonus for a sell out, because in my opinion a packed house is more intimidating than a 1/3 full house, no matter how big. So then you have a trade off of money or advantage.

this thing here is

if you hire a bloody PR then balme it on him if he cant do a full house even going against great teams.

actually i find PR managers or the concept of it really a bit awkward!

well if you dont hire one then better go get a winning team fast or else . . .
