Trading to some extent happens already. I've seen people transfer list a guy with the intent to swap players with a team who has a player they want.

How do i know this? Well, numerous times i've been instructed to get out of a bidding war because the owner wants to send that player to a specific team in return for a player. Naturally i told them to go 'F' themselves but it happens.

I dont see a problem with it, its just a risk you take that you dont get someone like me bidding against you.

actually it's very easy to abuse the system. like wat SimonL says, ppl can transfer list players specify to other team, why don't we open up a venue to legally trade players

I fail to see what the added value of that would be: If I would like to "get rid" of a player, it will be much more profitable to sell him in a free market (=transfermarket). And looking around in that same market for a player with the set of skills I am looking for, and choosing how much I would like to pay for him is also a lot more flexibel then setting up a trade deal which could involve a transfer of cash between 2 teams.

By trading players it increase interaction between managers. Trades can also be profitable, for e.g:

case 1:
Team A trades player + cash for Team B player or Team A can trade draft picks + cash + player for another player

case 2:
Teams can trade drafts picks or "buy" draft pick using cash

By adding trading it's not to replace the transfer list but adding new dimension to the game.

Although some type of caps need to be implement to prevent super rich owner frm buying all the good players like in football chelesa (now man city) offering ridiculous money for players.

it's pretty easy to get punished a player theis way, becuase you buy him to expensive, or you don't get the player you want ;)

Trading has one big problem, it open the door for cheaters because the trades are private and you can't see the skills of the palyers. On the transferlist you had hundred eyes who are looking if everything is going right.

Sounds very good in theory but in practice it will never work. There will be too many that will be cheating.

Easy example:
Manager A will retire but still got some rather good players. He decided to swap his players with Manager B who is a close friend. Must I go into more details about what might happen then?

E.g. two really good and promising players + draft choice from a bottom placed team will be swapped for 4 bench players that Manager B just recently bought to make the trade "fair". This trade will for sure add much more value to Manager B but how will BB be able to find these unfair trades? Even if it is an unfair trade both managers might actually not notice it either. A clever manager might fool the other manager to do some very poor trades.

Trade would be the optimal thing in an optimal world to get it to look even closer to NBA which would be cool but already without this option there are way too many managers who decides to cheat so it will never happen.

It's not happening.

As far as trades via the transfer list, those sales are evaluated as if they were individual sales.

Trades would only lead to things like Harry Frazee trading away young phenoms for cash.

And Boston would never be the same... :-)
