I personally think that either experience or stamina or both have an impact on free throws. I have a player who has screwed me over a few times during close matches. He is supposed to have respectable FT but in at least 2 matches this season, he has thrown up bricks and it lead directly to losses for me.

However, his stamina is not good and neither is his experience.

Finally, I also wonder if there is better success rates when you play at home.

FTs have increased importance on BB, and FT training is too hard...

if you think training FT is hard i wonder what you think about OD training

you know, i train OD and i think it is hard but not that hard... i train 3 players and i always have an average of 1.5 pop/week in OD... anyway, what i would like to say is that i think that FT in BB is not so realistic as it should be, for me it makes no sense a player that has strong JS and JR to have atrocious FT and score 0-29 FTs during the season... this guy once scored like 4-7 3PT and 0-12 FT in the same game... for me it is not logical... FT should be strongly influenced by Jump Shot, if not closely dependent of it.
and 0% of FT during an entire season is completely unrealistic, an average player should be able to score at least 40% FTs... that should be the case of atrocious FT players, to score 40% FT and not 0%... FTs performances should vary from 40% to 90%, not from 0% to 90% as it is today in BB...

it is also unrealistic not to train FT ever. All the players shoot some FTs every now and then in the training sessions.

I mean, if a player is soooooooo bad to get nearly 0% in FTs, the coach will call him and say "come here, let's see those free throws" and they will work on that.

It's true that even the worst shooters get a 40% in the NBA, but they have worked hard to get that 40%

So, if an important player in your team is that bad at FTs, you'd better dedicate a couple of weeks to fix that.

Maybe the sub levels suggest that player 1 is a high average while player 2 is a low respectable. Who knows? Probably just luck. What's jump range like on both players?
