I made the semis last year and got the best player in our draft also. I wanted a good 3rd guy for a 3 man PF/C inside rotation and got him.

Yeah it was complete luck though. That was my first season and I did very little scouting until towards the end of the season. I only had a scouting report on around 14 guys and a complete report on 2, neither of whom looked good at all. That guy was one of the ones I had a partial report on and he was an inside guy, had 5* skills, and the scouted game he went 17 for 18 with around 20 boards so even though I had no idea what his potential was I placed him 1st on my list. He's already the highest paid guy on my team by a couple thousand bucks.

I just joined and am wondering how good he is/will be.
Also, am I wasting my players potential by using a level 4 trainer until I can afford a better one?

I am happy with my first pick. Would have been the perfect trainee if he were a bit taller. Since I am training big men, I'll keep and train him a while anyway.

I put maybe $60,000 total into drafting, and I was able to get this guy with my 8th pick in the draft. MY team is horrible, so he'll easily be inputted into my starting lineup. I only wish he was taller, at 6-08, he's small for a PF -- but if CArlos Boozer and Charles Barkely can do it, why not Hodei Calimano.

he's solid aaron. keep him and if you are training guards train him hard. id do 3-4 weeks of pressure training before doing anything else. from there you have some leeway.

he's a 5.5-6* player now and after 3 seasons will be 9-10* if trained right.
