1) having one monster on the court will not boost everyone's performance. Only he will perform really well, and if he isn't where the ball is, then it doesn't really matter how much of a monster he is (for example, having a C with colossal IS won't be worth much if you have a PG with atrocious passing who can't get him the ball)

I think your pretty much right with your 3 assumptions. The only point I differ is that I think Monsters can be used to properly impact your team. I think certain skills can be very beneficial to be very high (Mainly Passing on a PG) for he can set up your other players and increase the high quality shots they attempt. While making them is up to your player I feel it can give a significant increase in quality shots.

Is this based on evidence or intuition? Do you mean that a passing and handling monster (say with reasonable OD) without any shooting skills is better than a well balanced PG with some shooting skills and less passing?

From weak evidence yes. Meaning that taking it only from the experience of my team. I feel passing is a underutilized skill in BB that creates quality shots. I'd love to see further study on its impact.

yeah, I agree with you. The monster will bring many things to the team, but it might be best to have a player who is a monster in rebounds (more chances) and passing (more assists)

I have to agreeably disagree with a small point of what you said though: I think passing is one that can be high on any player, and the whole team will benefit. My top assist-er is a power forward with respectable passing.

I don't know how much I would sacrifice for high passing skill, but as I wrote in the post before this one, my top assist-er is a power forward with respectable passing. I'm sure that if he had higher passing he would connect to more high quality shots on the court. I recently found a bargain on a better power forward and had to get rid of one of my old ones. One huge deciding factor for keeping my original PF was his passing skills.
