Game shape is a good & realistic feature remember how banged up Kobe was a couple of seasons ago, he was still playing but his game shape was bad & he couldn't perform at his best. There are exceptions though, Jordan when on the dream team on the day of the gold medal game stayed up all night playing table tennis & cards, then did a film shoot, squeezed in 36 holes of golf & just made it to the team bus in time but not in time to get his shoes. He still went out & smashed Croatia. Maybe the randomness of buzzerbeater game shaps is this.

This is the best & most competitive season I can rememer, I am way down in 5th but I think I could have a chance to beat anyone except Stunners. But it was great to see Okayama Chon take out Stunner's B team helps you right?

By next season the 2 biggest problems with Buzzerbeater will be fixed, the LI domination & buying players the day before a big game. I think you should be happy with these chnges making things more realistic.

It looks like the Singapore game becomes a must win....Malaysia has two easy games left, so they will have more PD than us.

Sigh...

That was rough. I thought we were going to win it there at the end - it had begun to feel inevitable. For them to win it on a shot with 3 seconds to go, hit by a guy who had gone 1-8 for the evening... well, that was just nasty.

Hey.....I have to agree with Malice....that was one heck of a game.
It sucks that Asano got scored on at the buzzer....he had a +9 up until that bucket, finished with a +7.
I am more pissed by the 4 missed FTs, those hurt!!
Next week will be huge..

If that's what Tsunami feels, perhaps he could work on his FG%...

WATCHING the game (as YC/Swoosh/I did), that was a good performance towards the end. It's interesting... Furusawa often keeps us in games, but I don't think he's got too many more seasons as a stalwart of the team. Even now, often our best passages of extended play *seem* to come when he's on the bench. That last run - it was Yasujiro/K-Mat at the bigs. And for 30 glorious seconds (during the Singapore time-out with Japan up 94-93), they had achieved the seemingly impossible...

On a personal level, even tho' K-Mat only played 18 min, I was happy with his play. He came up big at the end with7 points in 49 seconds (as did Yasujiro - come up big). Neither were perfect - both made slips - but it's getting to that point where maybe we can bid the past goodbye.
Last 90 seconds of play...
4 1:29 85 — 89 Y. Honda (A) gets off a great pass to K. Yasujiro (A). K. Yasujiro (A) throws down a powerful two-handed dunk. Scored.
4 1:29 85 — 89 The shot was assisted by Y. Honda (A).
4 1:22 85 — 89 K. Yasujiro (A) intercepted a pass.
4 1:14 87 — 89 K. Yasujiro (A) attempts a jump-shot from the wing, guarded closely by S. Yeng Jian (H). Scored.
4 1:00 87 — 91 Y. Tse Hui (H) pulls up at the top of the key and takes a shot, guarded closely by Y. Honda (A). Scored.
4 0:49 89 — 91 N. Ueda (A) threads a pass through the defense and finds K. Matsumoto (A). K. Matsumoto (A) goes baseline and stretches out for the dunk. Scored.
4 0:49 89 — 91 The shot was assisted by N. Ueda (A).
4 0:42 89 — 91 Ball stolen by K. Matsumoto (A).
4 0:28 91 — 91 K. Matsumoto (A) spins around his defender and fires off a quick jump shot, guarded closely by P. Jian Long (H). Scored.
4 0:16 91 — 91 P. Jian Long (H) goes up strong for an inside shot
4 0:16 91 — 91 K. Matsumoto (A) is called for a shooting foul.
4 0:16 91 — 92 Free throw made by P. Jian Long (H).
4 0:16 91 — 92 Y. Jing Sze (H) will come off the bench to replace S. Qingxian (H) at PG.
4 0:16 91 — 92 Substitution at C: F. Shuangxiang (H) for S. Yeng Jian (H).
4 0:16 91 — 92 H. Fujii (A) substituted for N. Ueda (A) at PG.
4 0:16 91 — 92 S. Motoori (A) brought in for K. Matsumoto (A) at PF.
4 0:16 91 — 93 The free throw by P. Jian Long (H) is up and in.
4 0:16 91 — 93 Full timeout called by Nippon.
4 0:16 91 — 93 K. Matsumoto (A) brought in for S. Motoori (A) at PF.
4 0:08 94 — 93 K. Matsumoto (A) attempts a three-point shot from the wing, guarded closely by P. Jian Long (H). Scored.
4 0:08 94 — 93 30 second timeout called by Singapore.
4 0:02 94 — 95 N. Huat (H) goes up strong for an inside shot, guarded closely by T. Asano (A). Scored.
4 0:00 94 — 95 K. Yasujiro (A) tries a driving layup, guarded closely by F. Shuangxiang (H). Shot missed.
