Wow, there could be 7 BBBL teams in the quarter finals of the tournament ...

That's something quite rare indeed, the BBBL teams have pretty much avoided playing each other in the previous rounds. And with both Q having once again made the tournament his number one objective for the season. And Joe doesn't like not to win, so as I see things, whether those two meet themselves in the final, and may the best win, or they are drawn in the quarter or semis and there could be a surprise finalist :)

As for myself, I had hoped to play one of them at home, but on a neutral ground I doubt I can win any of them.

Someday Dart, someday ...

Thank you for your support guys!
looking at the current table, there is a reasonable chance that Joe and I meet in the second round... let's hope that it doesnt happen!

why do i have this strange feeling that all the BBBL teams are praying to face the winner of my cup game in the next round (altho, looking at the GS, i think i have a considerable edge on my cup opponent. Still, not going to make the mistake to underestimate him)

either way, considering that most BBBL teams are playing away games, we might still have some surprizes if any of the II teams decides to go all out and CT one of the teams (altho, it would be pointless since it would mean a certain elimination in the next round)

still don't recall having so many BBBL teams avoid each other before we get to the neutral ground. If Joe and i would trade opponents, then u would have expected to see nothing but BBBL teams in the quarterfinals, which would have been an unprecedented event in the Lions cup history!

End of the second round and everything is on schedule.
Only one loss against the bloodbath conference (Cowboys ofcourse), but all other games won and that's 1 or 2 games more than i expected.

I should be able to finish #1 in my conference and with a bit of luck even have HCA for the entire PO's.

Well played, I didn't think you would come to my place to win and you did, I respect that. Too bad you had a game to drop this week and I didn't.

On the other hand, there's no way I can finish ahead of the Cowboys in the league ... Playing Cup is right for me.

And the lucky managers are spartans and eagles. They get a free pass to the semi finals...

For a moment there i was hoping for another II showdown, but i guess my luck ran out. Time to erase any possible doubt about HCA in my conference and then gear up for the PO's. It's time to rejoin start preparing to rejoin the big buy's.

I suppose it's a bluff because with 3 wins ahead, the race to the HCA is allready over in your division :p

i got 2 options:

a) try to bully my way with an inferior roster in the cup, to gain a round more (which already is unlikely of happening) only to end up facing the big 3 ( Mizu, Spartans or the Cowboys). but doing so would require me giving up a game per week. 3 game lead would then be erased, something which i'm not willing to risk

b) get 4 more wins, secure HCA through-out the entire PO's, search the TL for a nice addition, plan the minutes on my players and optimalize my last couple of training weeks.

So truth be told, i could bluff. But i'm not willing to risk my good position for another round in the cup. granted an extra 90k wouldn't be bad. but there just isn't a way to justify the risk. if we just consider the starting 5, Eagles roster has a 150k to 200k cash advantage. now i'm probably one of the few people who have learned not to believe in ratings and in salary on players, but even i know that there is a limit to that. and a 150k to 200k cash advantage is something that is too overcome without HCA and a higher invested enthusiasm.

i understand your point saying that i could be bluffing. but one should know when to yield, and for me, that is this round in the cup.
