Nah there is no formula whatsoever to extract the useful data out of it. It's to compare what player mix the winning mix was, and who contributed to the lead momentum. It's pretty useful if you wanna find out who is exactly spoiling it for the rest of the team or who is the winning factor of the team. Which is pretty useful if you don't really know who is contributing what.

How can you say that you don't find it useful without knowing how to use it...

i thought that there can be a special way to calculate player contributions by adding/subtracting the numbers..
if there's not, i don't find it helpful..
more information is needed (like; which teammates were playing at the same time) to make use of it..

Obviously, 5-man unit rating would be a difficult and extensive calculation. Individual player +/- is really easy.
