Always great to get new HGL records, 10 is something that´s not easy to defeat anymore! Thanks, Hadár, once again for publishing these and keeping record of current HGL records!
Round 8 offered some interesting ones, ED-KKS of course as being the treat/thriller of the round, but also some other notes could be made from other matches.
D vs. SUM 94-107: While difference in scores is mediocre (not a Buzzerbeater-match), teams box scores seem somewhat similar to each other. Notable difference being, that while both teams went for outside attacks (and shot combined 49 treys), SUM was able to capitalize on their attempts with 54,5% accuracy while restricting D to only 25,9% behind the arc.
LGM vs. TRO 102-93: In this inside offense-oriented match there were couple of things to note, I think. TRO lost by 9, while simultaneously getting 8 more second chance attempts, and 12 more attempts from free throw line than their opponent LGM. Game engine also perhaps step into the picture here (if you choose an inside attack, it, for some reason, lowers the percentages of your outside shots, even though you would have an open look - something in the BB game engine that really doesn't truly make sense to me), because TRO was able to score on only 5,9% (!) of their attempts behind the three point line. TRO did, on the other hand, leave 10 unscored points on the charity stripe (compared to 2 unsuccesful free throws by LGM) so that left something to improve on as well.
FRE vs. WAG 68-80: This low shooting-% match was very even until the later half of 4th quarter, after which I finally was able to find a way to a W (without one of my +$30K players on the playing roster). 8 more second chance attempts and having a 14 rebounds edge in this one certainly helped me to achieve that, while simultaneously feeling the blocking ability of FRE, having been rejected 13 times by their players.
WMO vs. LMS 130-109: While the difference in scores is somewhat big, it was only 11 before the 4th quarter. And when you consider LMS lost the rebounds by 17, and scored 21 (!) points less from the charity stripe compared to WMO, that explains a lot of the difference. 41% of LMS's field goal attempts were three pointers, which they nailed at 41,5% accuracy, which also helped to keep the scoring difference relatively small (and as a comparison, out of WMO´s FG attempts only 16% were treys, and they scored on 5 of their attempts compared to 17 by LMS).
