aren't ripe enough yet for the NT
Not ripe enough yet? So, to make sure I understand you, you think I would be further along than I am, if I spent more time on the offsite?
With all due respect, let's examine the silliness of this notion.....You started a season before I did....You live, eat and breathe the offsite. We both entered DIII at the same time. You made 3 major purchases to upgrade your team during your season in DIII....I upgraded my backup PF and backup Center, basically running with the same roster. I went 21-1 and beat an incredibly unorthox team in the finals to promote to DII, while you went 10-12 and finished 5th seed.
Where did the "immense education" benefit your team? Most of the great guys that are on the offsite Forum....are in my Federation. I speak to the same guys you do. I have been asked over and over to be more involved in the offsite forum...they have asked me not because of what the offsite forum would do for me, but what I could contribute to the offsite forum!
When I started this game, I didn't know anything, took over a 4-4 team, went 14-0, and 4-0 in the off season to promote. I learned and figured it out, and relied on my mentors. When I arrived in DIV, I thought i was way in over my head. I went in with a 74K payroll, and the 2nd or 3rd game of the season I shocked everyone by beating a team that had a payroll more than 100K more than mine. After a huge upset, I made it to the finals that fist season, one that nobody even expected me to make the playoffs. I had to work so hard to promote out of DIV, that i had one of the top 3 teams in DIII when I arrived.
Here i am again, brand new in a new Division, lowest payroll in the league....and guess what? I will figure it out again. I don't whine or make excuses for my team, I just rely on the inisight and knowledge some of the best minds in BB have instilled in me, and i keep moving up.
Are there nuances to the offsite forum, or aspects of being an NT coach I am going to learn and figure out? Absolutely, but then again, anyone other than Namsor who has the previous experience will be in the same boat. While the NT coaching job is not a learn as you go job...Nobody can argue with the success I have had, and what appears to be a team that "wins more with less" that most. I understand this game, I love this game, and passionate about this game, and I know how to bring a community together as well.
If anyone decides they won't vote for me, solely because I have not frequented an offsite website often enough, they are selling me short. While you have spent your time in the classroom (offsite forum) I have been on the court getting it done. And don't get me wrong, I love that offsite forum...great tool, I look forwward to being more and more involved in it.
You will also notice, since I signed in 10 days or so ago, I have not made many posts, or been on the site all the time, because I don't want to give the appearance that I am doing it solely to get elected. I assumed Joel would run again...When I found out he wasnt going to run, I decided to. Ask him...I confirmed with him that he was for sure not running, and told him if he decides to run, I am out. But if he's not going to run, there is nobody running in this election that combines the credentials, community involvement, and passion for BB that I have.
To sell me short for not being on the offsite more would be like selling you short for not being more active in my Federation. You are indeed a member, as are many of the top coaches in the offsite forum. As you see, I speak to alot of them every day in my Federation. It's a forum, a tool...just like the offsite. We are speaking to the same people...Just in different places. When I am elected, I will bring my experience, knowledge, and network of people to the National Team, and combine it with the greatness the offsite forum offers to form a great NT team!
