So how do you get more people other then the about 60 or 70 people with supporter involved with the NT sides?
This is the issue from me on the topic. To be effective internationally we need more people active in training players for the NT sides and I fail to see how this can be done if someone needs to be a supporter before they can get access to the federation and all the info there.
I am a fan of federations. Just think it is a mistake to make it the major tool for the NT sides.

16 votes is not the enough to base it on IMO. those who voted I would assume are the more active and mostly have supporter.

Would of been keen to see use an existing federation for it as a option.

I believe a great leader needs three qualities:

1. Passion
2. Determination
3. Vision

Some would argue that you would need the ability to understand skills, tactics, etc etc, but really, that kind of stuff can be discussed as part of a committee of head coach/assistant coaches/australian community. That's the whole idea of having a forum/federation.

Mr Green, I believe you have all the above qualities. You have the vision to make big changes to how the U21 is run, heck, even the aussie BB community in general. And I believe you have the passion and determination to see it through. So you'll be getting my vote. Best of luck.

The gibberish you copy and pasted was completely off-topic. If you feel that the other candidate's speeches were too "long" or too "off-topic" then that is up to your own judgment. You don't have to read it. But the act you just pulled to put your point across was uncalled for.

I apologise, mate. I really should have had that as an option to be fair. However, can I ask you if you really think the Wombat Federation is the right place to conduct all NT business? You just stated that a federation needs to be used. You also stated that a federation, on account of the supporter required to access it limits people...so how does using the existing Wombat thread make any difference?

The Wombat federation has become the hub of aussie activity since its creation (a credit to you), but it is full of information and threads that have no relavence to NT stuff. Surely using your thread would make it hard to distinguish NT from non-NT?

I believe a federation is the way to go long term. But believe BB should allow special ones for NT sides be set up that non supporters can access. Or at least a private forum.

I think the issue of making it a federation only supporters can use will mean it is harder to get more people to train players and improve the player pool for the 21 NT side and long term the Nt side.

How will you find new managers and keep them upto date informed who are not supporters? There are some very good managers who are not supporters and more new ones each day. Getting all these people involved if important to keep the side strong IMO. I don't see that happening without a way for non supporters to get access to all the info in the off site forum and its issues are mainly a lack of input from NT coaches and also being only focused on NT sides.

I believe bringing back the mentor program based on the off site forum will bring in more managers interested and trying to train players that suit the NT sides long term.

I have posted in the suggestion forum about doing something that would include non supporters and would hope lots of our community who see the issue would support such a suggestion.

Somewhere on BB would make it easier but taking out most the managers we have who are not supporters is not the right way to increase our player pool which is vital for the 21 NT side. We lacked Sf and PF the last 2 seasons. Without more managers training how will we address that issue?

Of the 16 people who have voted, 14 believe we need a new Federation! Surely this ends the debate about the revitalisation of the offsite forum!?

Importantly, 9 of those 14 believe it needs to contain both the U21 NT and the NT. So, I must concede that a new federation will have both if I am elected.

@whitewind...the player info you speak of will be available in the new federation/forum. Of course, the problem will be with those who have supporter and those who don't in terms of accessing it. However, given that 14 of 16 want a federation means that 14 of 16 know supporter will be a must in order to access it.

Not at all. Im one of the 14 who would like to see an u21 federation. And i have supporter. But I scouted the 20yrold guards s23 and the question i got (99% all non supporters) was the same... Is he close? What should I do to improve his chances? There are lots of trainees out there, lots of them are screwing up their training because the support isnt there. Lots wanted to know what their player looked like in comparison to other guards the same age. Im not talking about 14 people here. Im talking about ALL of the current aussie 21yr old trainees!

Can a u21 fed alone do this? No.
Can a free accessible area that all trainers can be directed to? Yes.
Can that co-exist with an u21 fed for discussions/ game strategies/ all other u21 discussions? Yes

The way i see it, the offsite forum comes as part of the u21 managers job. If the fed becomes a free one as Mickyster is suggesting, that changes, as it then becomes inclusive to all.

I agree that the mentoring system is the way to go...

...to be honest, Mickyster, the more this debate goes on, the more I think about the offsite forum and the vast amount of information and resources stored there, yet I still return to the same question: if the offsite forum was retained, how would you get people to start using it again if so many are saying they are too lazy to do so and when so many are saying they are keen on creating a new federation that houses all things NT?

I will also say this, Mickyster, as this debate has progressed the more convinced I have become that you are the right person for this job.

There have been so many posts around this now, my question is:

Do any of the candidates intend on revitalising the offsite forum? I don't care about the mentoring of teams (but i do about players), but something along the lines of a promotional thread with a link to the latest newspost/thread where a discussion is taking place would be good.

The offsite forum died because no one promoted it, making it easy access with a clickable link.

"Tactics up on offsite forum" doesn't cut it in my opinion.

Ezlife I know doesn't meet this criteria. I know where Mr Green stands on the issue, while I disagree with it, at least it is better than anything else we have heard.

Were any candidates committed to involvement of the entire community? Or just the paying customers?

I think the main thing is we both want the same thing and just see different ways of getting there.

I think getting the mentor program up and running again will get these coaches who are fringe of involvement (that would be most of them) onto the forum i they are keen to learn and make them keen to train for the 21 NT. If we can find 20 more coaches and help them train 18 year olds each year we will have a much stronger side from a stronger player pool to pick from.

The system Iwen put in is great and we need to give coaches goals for each season of training for 18, 19 and then when they are 20 let them know how their player can be used and focus their training into the teams needs.
Just think if we had 4 or 5 sfs at 20 looking good and we could make them all a little different. Things like IS focused, Def focused and outside focused. Then the manager could pick the guy who best suits the teams needs that game,

Also the forum/federation is a great tool to keep track of GS and allow manager to see the effect of the player playing mins each week.

Whoever wins I am hoping we can work together to reach the goal we both want greatly.

I think if the information was there, people would come. Why dont you go there now? Because s23 is lost and no new info is there. The lazy 2nd site is just an excuse. I can get there in 1 click. Its not hard.

If i was to say all the new u21 teams skills were on there to see, and current, I know of atleast 10 managers i could have told " Go visit the offsite forum, its here:........, you can see the current standard there, and this is why player x is in the team and yours isnt. That is valuable info that would raise the standard of aussie trainees as a whole, not to mention capture new managers to discuss future training, discuss elastic effects etc.

Instead I gave them the whole "Im not the u21 manager so cant comment, but I like his OD, his JS is weaker than the other SGs ive seen" conservative spurl.
