There is a lot of luck involved Rafa.

If you end up with an old starting roster, you are going to have to buy trainees. However, you will not have money to buy trainees.

Basically, it will come down to who got the best lot of 18 year old when the team was created.

I'm feeling that if anything day-trading and massive inflow's of cash derived from making a quick buck should be monitored more closely in Utopia.

However, I don't think it makes much sense to force every team to just pump money into the arena because there is simply no value on the market.

Perhaps some trading rules should be enacted for the first few seasons. Such as the player must play on the team 10 weeks before he can be sold. This will make the market harder to cash out on. But not eliminate the idea of buying players.

I see, couldn’t the new rosters be semi randomized? Every roster starting with at least 3 trainees or something? Or, since it’s a newborn “country”, all players starting with 20 years or less?

For me Utopia should be all about skill and less about luck (although luck will always be involved). Don’t get me wrong, of course there’s skill in making the best out of the current market but in a new market I feel the importance of all others aspects of BB would be maximized.

- Edit-

Saw this on another thread posted by EGM-Perpete:

"If that was a separate server, that would mean several things.

At the start, all the players would be shitty. After 4 seasons, the best players would be as good as U21 players. After 8 to 10 seasons, the players would start to be relatively good.

The pool of players to buy for would be small, really small. As of now, when you need a player, you have 20.000+ teams to get that players from. In a closed server, that would 10 times less at best. Expect some waiting list to get the player you want.

The pool of teams to sell to? Same, a lot thinner than now.

What that would do to the market in that Utopia server ? It would be slower than the actual one and probably a lot more bumpy."

For me that's exactly the awesomeness in closed market for Utopia. What’s bad in the current world isn’t necessarily bad in Utopia. There are no references anymore, as the closed market would never get near the shape of the current market. The players on the market would be rarer but not necessarily over expensive because nobody would have the money to buy them. Utopia don’t have to play by the same references of the current game.

depending on the income level of the individual person in their home nation supporter seems cheap/expensive. For people with a modest income in a lower cost of living country cost of 1year supporter+10bucks starts to get rather spendy.

perhaps they should 'throw-in' the OPTION to get a free 2nd team in the new BB-international (I am thinking it should be this, not some fake Utopia country) for people who buy supporter 1 year at a time or better. This way for people who really don't have much money...BB doesn'T suddenly get that expensive if they want to participate in this new feature.

Especially for people who have been paying supporter for like 2 or 3 years now. For them to suddnely have their amount to contribute by $10 bucks wilst a bunch of random dudes who maybe never paid supporter only need to drop $10 on it total.

Really I understand opening the door on this for just $10 to anyone is a smart move. I can see the supporter argument out there that they want this 2nd team for free.
