Your team (the Fab 4) has a definite edge in gameshape and has to start as favourites

Got to say what a huge night it was on the transfer market for a couple of the teams in this league.

Akuma who dropped his cup game to focus on gameshape, has just spent 288K on a 89K a week SG and Hadders has spent 370K on a 277K a week Centre.

Will be an extremely tough week for my guys against these 2 teams who both seem quite determined

OK so a bit commentary for this afternoons game.

Sid vs Akuma

I have to agree, Team Akuma have the better GS going into this round...... Duffill pulling out a 3.5m DMI this week. hooly dooly. he will go up against Linares who has a DMI of 2m. Should be interesting, but Dufill will win that battle.

Smeltz and Urb will also go head to head, Smeltz again will dominate here.

For HA's backcourt, Lie, Riveria and Atkins will need to beat Abimbola, Mclean and Bonichini, but given that Sid will also stick someone at PG for training, (probably Williams or Ryder) - I personally can't see how HA can pull of the win.

Only advantage wil be enthusiasm maybe for Sid.

be an interesting game to watch. :)

I actually agreed with you prior to the game although I thought the one major advantage I had was depth on the bench.

Very happy with the effort of Urb who matched Duffill in ranking 18 despite the fact he only had respectable gameshape to Duffills Proficient.

No doubt the efforts of Linares v Smeltz was decisive and as was Rivieras efforts beating Maclean despite only having repectable game shape

Anyways Ive made a dent in the Team Akuma " promotion train" and will have affected their finances a little but it may be that all Ive won is the battle and that Duffill and co still might win the war, because I have to admit that I wont be able to keep my current roster together for the entire duration of the season and in fact have probably put my team back 3 or 4 seasons by making such a major push

No time to celebrate the victory because the team will need to regroup to be ready to face an equally determined Hadders team on Tuesday night

well played sid. Good effort in gaming the system. The fact you had a much better bench probably helped too.

im probably going to sound bitter..well hell i am pretty bitter..
but its absolute total bullshit that the game's system allows a team like sid to pull in some big guns, play them for a game or two and win a crucial game, then sell them off. Totally ruins the whole vibe for me

I mean..look at the lakers..and even the heat.. they put together a really talented squad but it still took the heat half a season to gel and start playing well together..and the lakers..geez they've been at it all season and are still inconsistent

i hope season 24 fixes this..but geez..i dunno if a hit on gameshape would even work unless it was a pretty severe one that would take at least a few weeks to get right. Sid's rentals were in shit gameshape and they still played really well.

Ahh well..without HCA my team is screwed.

AAAAAANNNYYYWAYYYYYYY....the short version: BLAH BLAH BLAH Akuma is a sook. Well done Sid, you've pretty much got this championship in the bag unless one of the other guys make some major moves.

Mate as I said, I may have won the battle but I think you might win the war.

There is no way I will be able to maintain my current roster for long.

If you can keep your currant roster you might end up starting favourite

My desire to win tonight and to do well in the cup, may have put my team back 3 or 4 seasons

Well said akuma.

I hate it that with a few weeks left to finals some people buy up big. That also doesn't happen in real life. This is supposed to be a 'real life' simulation, no?

Like Ive said Ive probably put my team back 3 or 4 seasons by doing what Ive done and its sort of a compliment to you both that Ive had to go to such measures.

This season is incredibly open

Currently Im trying to decide what my next move will be with my squad.

The 3 players I sold were 3 of the players that gave my squad such flexibility, depth and a solid weekly profit.

My current team is not sustainable and I just might have to lose one of my 200K plus players in the next few weeks.

MJP, Cunning Linguists, Geelong Vipers, Northcote Slammers, Mangaloids, possibly Avalon Jets and both of your 2 teams are all very much in the race for promotion and it just might come down to who plays their cards best and has the most luck

Disagree - the smart thing which ur gonna do is sell off one or two of ur high paid players - thus reducing ur loses per week, regain all if not most of expended capital spent getting those big guys, and still have a team good enough to beat everyone - ur only opponent was TAK and now you've gotten that win out of the road its smooth sailing to the finals with HCA

Sure if myself, or Corio or Hadders buy up big towards the end of season, then u still have only lost maybe $200-$400k in the past few weeks, which, in the scope of ur curent bank balance, is not a big deal and so you can combat it.

uve always been in a position to do so with a high bank roll, but even so, its well played Sid from me.

and its sort of a compliment to you both that Ive had to go to such measures
- I think its interesting that u did go to such measures. I personally feel that TAK's purchases are not an attempt at promotion, but rather a personal interest set of purchases that allow him to have players on his team frmo his old set of friends. So it may have been a false dawn there, but either way, if Sid sells up now he ends up with HCA, an impressive roster and still enough cash to take the missus out to dinner.
