I guess that LI addicts would start playing LP, making it a dominant tactic. Managers, who were able to find smart alternatives to LI, use them even without such a threat.

I have to disagree. I have tried LP before and my PG/SG never went inside. The main reason LI is so dominant is because of the G's slashing to the basket. I had a PG with 15 IS and 18 driving and he would never go inside while playing LP. He would rack up a ton of assist passing to the PF/C but never go inside.
Long story short...LP would never be as dominant as LI.....in my opinion.

I'm not even sure why people are bickering about that. Irrespective of what the problems were in season 1-12 I'd say we should focus on the problems we have right now and that is LI.

Let's just agree to disagree about season 1-12 and move on.

In real games , some tactices are more useful than others . I think that it is not necessary the bbs change GE . We have one way for changing , increase IS cost . LI is powerfull becuase you can run it with low salary palyers . Your PG dosent need to JS that skill is expensive for guards .
Changing in salary formula can change everything .

It is hard to upset a much harder opponent. But if his bigs have bad OD, you can put your two best shooters at PF/C and use patient. Just switch them out on the defensive end. I don't know if you can win but when the three ball starts dropping, he will be sweating for sure.

If he shows patterns in his play, I would. I run Base and Patient against weaker teams and LI against tougher teams. If he is strictly LI, I might give it a go.

I'm also very eager to know how the potential cap (not salary) will be affected by, say, a PG with 18IS, if at all.
And a C with PA15.
Or that Finnish player with OD+ID+SB+PA.

Salary raise without a push to potential cap effect?
I would like that certainly, being "just" the salary the punishment.

PS: Thank you everyone who managed to digress and ruin the thread! Keep it coming, just like everywhere else.
