Hi everyone,

Just in case someone has not made the calculations and is wondering which win-loss record percentage is needed to make the B3 knockout stage, I leave you here the numbers:

64 teams will qualify

- 1 team with 0 losses
- 7 teams with 1 loss
- 21 teams with 2 losses
- 35 teams with 3 losses

This implies the following rewards:

(A) for teams with 2 losses, to play against a team with 3 losses in the round of 64,

(B) for teams with 1 loss, to avoid other teams with 0 or 1 losses until the quarterfinals, and

(C) for the only team with 0 losses, to have the first two rounds against a team with 3 losses and the third round against a team with 2 or 3 losses. Teams with 0-1 losses would appear no sooner than in QF.

Let's enjoy this shit!

Does anyone have an idea why my team (current seed 27) does not play against seed 28 but against seed 33?

Because it does not work like this. Matches are assigned at random within the teams with the same number of wins and losses.

- 1 team with 0 losses
- 7 teams with 1 loss
- 21 teams with 2 losses
- 35 teams with 3 losses

This implies that the two perceived to be strongest teams should play against each other in the last round before the eliminations. We might get a preview of the final there with this 7-round Swiss draw. Interesting...

That's it! In fact, all matches of teams with 0 or 1 losses in the last 2 rounds could well be B3 finals given how hard it is to get there. I love it!

The big plan in my head when I recommended this format last season was that everyone goes into the competition knowing exactly what they need to advance to the knockout round. In this case, all winning records (4-3 or better) advance, regardless of PD. But credit for what we have know should go to the inventor of Buzzerbeater Madness, for showing that this format was possible in the first place.

The one flaw as I see it is that there isn't a bigger reward for being the 7-0 team in the swiss. The alternative however would've been a 29 team bracket where the 7-0 team gets a double bye to the QF, which I think is too much of a reward. At least they do get two rounds against 4-3 teams as you pointed out.

I feel that 1.7M of total salaries is not enough. You'd rather be on the safe side: buy my house, my girlfriend, my dog, and my sweaty socks. Nobody knows what can happen!

Hi man,

Feel free to dm me about the house, girlfriend and socks, sure we can work it out. My dog doesn't get along with other dogs so sadly I can't get it too.
