Your overall defense was a lot better though and your team took 14 more shots than their team.

They had a ton of turnovers, missed too many free throws, and were on the road.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

ONe thing that does seem odd with your game is you should have better rebounders but he outrebounded you. I am wondering if this came down to a depth issue with your bigs or a stamina issue...still the rating is higher but rate is lower. I can'T say though this doesN'T often happen... RB is a bit random in this game so sometimes its more luck than skill...which can suck, but not 100% so, if you are a better rebounding team usually you will dominate the boards and get a better posession count.

Not a surprise - his opponent played the entire fourth quarter with backups, which lowered the ratings accordinly.

After three quarters, the road team was 30-59, with 10 offensive boards and 39 total rebounds, while the home team was 18-60 with 10 offensive boards and 27 total. This would seem to indicate the road team was a much better rebounding team, as they came away with an offensive board on roughly one-third of their misses, while the home team got the offensive board roughly one out of four misses. The fourth quarter both got four offensive boards, the road team on 14 misses and the home team on 12, essentially flipping the margin. I think it's extremely fair to say that the road team was a much better rebounding team for three quarters, which is why the final ratings were so close - strong (low) is basically a fart away from respectable (high).

The only thing I really ever find useful for looking at rebounding is what percentage of available offensive boards a team pulls down - telling me a team gets 20 offensive rebounds in a game doesn't really differentiate between a team that's dominant on the boards and one that just missed 80 shots and had an average rebounding effort.

Hey folks.
I didn't lose this game (thank god)- but I would still like to see if anyone here has got any explanation to how did it happen that I took less rebounds than my opposition, even though my rebound rating was much much higher-

Your opponent's starting C seemed to dominate the boards. While it's still not enough to explain the disparity, I imagine his individual matchup there was the primary reason the numbers came out as they did - it looks like he's a player who's been dominating the boards at your level all season while your C is far less effective there. I'd have to look more at when his main PF picked up his offensive boards for a better idea, but I don't think there's a particularly good explanation to be found other than sometimes a little better doesn't translate to performing better. Luckily it wasn't enough to change the outcome of the game.

How did I lose this game? We played at the same effort level and our rosters are pretty much the same. I had better game ratings than him. We played at his home court, but seriously, 16 points??
