While that is a totally valid opinion, I find it interesting that you have formed it without even experiencing the change yet. Very open-minded of you.

That is what I said. I have no problem with you having that opinion, as I stated. I find it closed-minded to come to a conclusion without experiencing it. It's like saying I hate gelato without ever eating any. Please don't put words in my mouth that aren't there. You are allowed to think any way you like. I am trying to point out that maybe you should wait before you hate. I answered, "have to wait and see" because well, I have to wait and see.

Ok, you're the only person that can read here, the only person that can think clearly here, of course there cannot be another opinion that is equally valid as yours.

I'm done talking with you.

Don't get so surly. You said I was being disrespectful to you when I wasn't. Again, any opinion is valid. Do you not see how saying I hate something before it has even happened might be a bit reactionary?

Thank you for your advice, I cannot remember now how many times I have read the new article and everytime I read it on and on, I did it more carefully than the occasion before.

I hope you learnt good mats in class, but I am absolutely sure that you should re-read some parts of it (I am now 33, and I can tell you that it works, you should give it a go too).

If I train a given skill at a rate of 100%, and then it is reduced to 90%, that is NOT the same SPEED. 10 pops of defence in the old system equals to 9 pops in the new system. If I want to improve defence from level 4 to level 14, it equals roughly to 13 now (and I still did not take into account that it takes more time to improve a skill from 12 to 13 than it is from 4 to 5) and I will have to continue training it to 14. 10% will be allocated to other skills (some that I may never train and even unnecessary to train) so trat is a loss to some extent, that is for sure, even after reading the article for the 12th time.

For the average player in the game, this will result in approximately 10% slower training in their primary skill than before, and additional training in other skills approximately corresponding to that 10% loss.

There. I made it easier for you.

I think he is talking about 10% going into skills he doesn't want to train. They are nice to have, but not a necessity.

If you train a PG for example, you want 10% to go to: JS, JR, OD, DR, HA, PA or ID. Some would want to go to IS and RB or even SB, and some not. If he's among those who doesn't want their 10% to go to IS, RB and SB, I think he has every right to complain.

Don't get me wrong, I sitll love the game and will continue playing it. It's just this change messed with my training plan, that's it. I of course will adjust, but I can't adjust two last seasons.

And please don't tell me it's been announced one season ago. Yes it was, but we didn't know anything about how it was going to work, so it's a moot point.

I personally think this is a great addition.

We've seen some other discussions where some BB player can have a very high Jump Shot skill level and still be Atrocious at Free Throws. That may happen because this is a game where the previous design for skill training made it possible. But in my opinion, this is totally unrealistic.

The same goes for Inside Shot. It is just very hard to grasp for me that you can have players who score from the carpark (3-pointers) but fail to lay it in from under the basket. Sure, they might run into a Shot Blocked by a C or PF, but their skill level for Inside Shot can not be Atrocious.

This Cross Training makes the BB players more realistic. That's good. We'll still have monsters who excel at certain skills. But their other skills will be more realistically aligned to the monster-skill. Is that bad? I think it's great! It may take 10% more weeks to create that monster. Is that bad? I don't think so, but that's just my opinion.

Up to now we always knew what secondary skills a basic skill improves. That did not mean any loss because I knew that if I train passing for eg. that would result in some improvement in handling, and if I switch to handling training later it would pop in less time. Now, 10% randomly goes to somewhere, even to the reboundig of a shooting guard, that in my opinion very few managers will switch to in the case of a shooting guard. That is a loss. I made it clearer for you... That is never the same speed, everyone will recognize it in a very short time (starting with today's practice).

And just one more thing. Nobody can make a good lifetime training plan for players from now on, just because of what I mentioned above. If you do not know where the 10% went, and you want to switch training you will never have any idea how much secondary improvement your players have and in which skills the improvements are. You will lose a further week or two by shooting with a rifle at a blank page until you find what you were looking for. That is a slowdown effect too, and a further loss in time.
