Việt Nam vs. Australia 70 - 108 (21083)
Nguyên! If one was to simply summarise the match in one word, Nguyên would have been used. In one of the most confusing matches ever in Australian history, the Vietnamese team fielded six different Nguyêns. The Australian coach and players almost found it infuriating as to figure out who to match up on who as having jersey numbers is not a common sight in Buzzerbeater. But thankfully they all look differently which made things easier.

Vietnam going into the match were the underdogs and Phùng (17123661) tried his heart out with 32 points and 9 boards. His one man display was not good enough as Australia's front court dismantled Vietnam. Solid contributions from Lawrance (12019302), Vidas (13436509), Cunming (9471882) and Lakhin (13435558) as they scored a combined 63 points and grabbed 35 boards. But it wasn't all about offence as Wazza (6863683) and Dell (10058043) played lock down D all night only allowing 3 baskets from 20 attempts.

This match completes Australia's second Asian championship match and are so far in a good position to advance to the next group stage while Vietnam remains winless after three matches. Stay tune for more as the Asia Championships continue with Australia facing India in their next outing.

It impresses me that Phung scored more than all the Nguyens combined. Go Phung!

Lawrance was awesome in offence, but he certainly had issues tryling to limit Phung.

Australia vs. India 126 - 92 (21087)
In Australia's third match of their Asia Championships campaign, they faced off against the surging Indians. India raced off to a flying start going up 13-7 before Australia crawled their way back to level pegging 24 all at the first break. Watching on the sidelines was India's former U21 coach Yodabig (196950) who was mixed with emotions all night cheering proudly for his younguns who have now finally made the Indian national team while watching in awe as his man Lawrance (12019302) played another fantastic game starting at power forward for Australia. The game continued tightly at the second term as India continued to match Australia up until 4 minutes mark before the main break. But Australia took the game to another level and left India behind their trail.

Overall both sides had some noteworthy performances. Jaiswal (9093174) from India had a great game as he dominated Walker (14845673) all night scoring 24 points while restricting Walker to only 29% from the field. He also had support from Kumar (14983993) and Firosh (14983997) who scored 18 and 17 points respectively. However it was not enough as Australia played once again a strong team game with a total of 29 assists. Veteran Mansfield (8157988) led the way with 10 dishes as well as 25 points and 5 boards. Lawrance as mentioned earlier contributed with 16 points, 6 boards, 4 assists and 2 steals. He was not alone with the front court assault with Cunming (9471882) having 16 points, 12 boards and 2 blocks; and Lakhin (13435558) with 12 points, 10 boards and 4 assists.

All in all, Australia's team game was too hot for India to handle with 7 double digit individual scores to 4. With this win, it takes Australia to the top of Pool C as well as automatically qualifying to the next group stage. India on the other hand still haven't notched up a victory after 4 games and are eliminated from the Asia Championships. Australia's next game on this coming Monday evening will be up against Indonesia, another team that has qualified to the next round. Stay tune and hope to see you all then for more action packed basketball.
