So far, you've done nothing but insult people like me, because you think I'm not good enough to give you advice. You think you have all the answers for a new age of the U21. Let me break it to you pal, as someone who isn't part of the "cabal". USA managers don't respect arrogance. You can't be a writer unless you read. You can't be a rocket scientist without studying the science of others. You can't be a musician unless you start off by jamming to others' tunes first. You can't be a manager, scout, or helpful contributor to this team without any experience. That goes for you and for me.

What is absurd here is that you would rather be a part of an American team that fails as opposed to something new and an American team that wins.

America. Do not let the offsite party control you. We are ready for the GOLD and we must make a change.

I would expect that they would still run a game planning thread, and I would expect that I would read over it (maybe not for every game, but for bigger games I expect I would). What I wouldn't expect to do is really get involved with the discussion myself. I also don't really "confirm" my tactics with anyone pre game, but I may BB-Mail someone (these being where I was talking about experienced managers) to discuss certain parts of GP.

I think that plus being involved in the player development/scouting part of it would still keep most of the managers on the offsite who truly want whats best for USA in the next two seasons, as well as down the road, to still stick around and use the offsite as they do. I can see that it is possible that there would be some friction and a few may quit due to change, that would be a challenge I would deal with.

I just think you're wrong in this. As much as I enjoy contributing to the U21 team, if my input isn't going to be considered, why would I even waste my time? You're basically willing to ask of people's time and effort but not willing to listen and it just doesn't work like that. It really is just so contradictory as you just said,

I will pay a bit more attention to the site overall, as I will not be involved with NZ anymore. However given my personal opinion of the game planning I wouldn't really be part of that. I am also not interested (for this season anyway) in having a training manager type role without the manger role (i.e. Coach or bust, no As. Coach\trainer role for me).

So here are my questions. You just said you wouldn't stick around to help out if you don't win because things won't work out the way you want, so can you really say that you'd expect the same of any other manager? And if you don't plan to stick around and contribute, nor have you ever to this point, can you say that you're a manager that "truly wants whats best for USA in the next two seasons, as well as down the road"? And if you don't care enough about the USA to be involved in whatever could potentially help the U21 down the road, why would I vote for you to be our coach now?

From these discussions, it doesn't appear as if you're willing at all to learn or change your methods and are disregarding the work of everyone who has contributed to the teams thus far. I understand your approach better now, but I don't think its the right one. No new leader walks into a successful, well-organized process and changes everything, especially when you don't even understand it. While our discussions are important, as some key contributions to game planning have come from managers that don't have the "experienced" credentials you're looking for, including in our NT Worlds Final game against China in season 28, and yet while people offer up suggestions, the manager is still ultimately the one who has the power to make the decision whether they implement it or not.

I don't think that's true. I have been trying to give you a fair shot and hear where you're coming from. Everyone has their opinion, as do all different offsiters, but I can at least speak for myself and say that I'm all for change, if it is beneficial. And so far, there's nothing that you've said that has sounded convincing around what makes you a better manager than Phyr.

My question for you though is how does the U21 continue to get better from here and sustain the success we've seen recently? Not just for the upcoming Worlds but how do we sustain the scouting systems, involving more coaches and development of future players, especially when the Offsite, where much of this is done, has seen the loss of key members with the know how?

I think the scouting system is a super important aspect of the U21 program. In the past scouts, basically just asked for skills in order to identify the top prospects...since the database system I was able to create already does AND gives recommendations for training plans, our scouts can focus their time on mentoring U21 owners in the pipeline rather than spamming bbmails to USA owners. Does this owner know how to manage GS? Arena? Tactics? These are the important things that impact BB success. If a domestic scout is able to mentor a player and help them decrease the BB learning curve, then they are more likely to be more involved in the U21 program in the future. It's sad to see some older players leave the game but I think with the measure I have helped implement we can create the next great generation of USA managers.

I can bring these divergent factions together. Give me the keys.

Collectively, we need to stop letting the offsite blind everyone with their pleas of relevance. We need to focus on the results.

We did not even win the Americas tournament under phyr. This is not acceptable. As Americans we can not justify this lack of success for any reason.

GOLDBEAR is ready to extinguish this U21 dumpster phyr and bring home the GOLD.

I just want to say that if I do win, I hope you stay around. My style as manager is one that I like to hear from everyone. There are alot of diverse viewpoints on the offsite and hearing all of those viewpoints make me a better manager.

My posts yesterday were meant to show holes in your and our opponents logic that I should be judged based on one game. Making the NBBA is an accomplishment, and you should be proud of that accomplishment. I don't believe that you should be judged just on the relegation series. I hope the voters pick their manager based on the totality of their accomplishments/efforts and not on just one game.

If you win, I will help you in any way I possibly can because in the end I care more about the U21/NT then my own successes as a manager. GL.

I've got to respect this. You undoubtedly were a major help the string of American victories before your term. And your promise to finish scouting when you lose is going to prove beneficial. However this is a results based position, and we need to look in a different direction for the chairman.

We need to bring the GOLD back to America. GOLDBEAR is ready for the challenge.

I would like to stress that being an offsite member will not automatically disqualify an individual from a position in my administration. In the end I want to make this more about results, and less about +1 balls and handies.

First a general comment - thanks to everyone who has agreed to run. Very much appreciate the time you all take to answer questions on this forum. I enjoyed reading through the Q&A so far and I hope it becomes a little less combative and more productive going forward.

GOLDBEAR and Thegame187 (and anyone else running for that matter):

I trained/own Rosendo Touza (33457004), one of the players that played on a regular basis on the USA U21 team the last two seasons. When Phyr requested certain training changes (i.e. change to game shape for semis and finals; focus on some guard skills to make him a better outside PF in his early years, etc.), I gladly went along with it. A large reason I did so was because I felt like I was part of the team during the run to the finals and was more than happy to help out the team even if it didn't exactly go along with my team's training plan. This leads to a two part question: If you won't keep the conversation going on the off-site, how will encourage/motivate managers such as me to be part of the team and willing to make certain training and other short-term changes at the expense of our club teams if we don't have an on-going U21 NT conversation? In the alternative, if you will keep the conversation going on the off-site, will you change the process at all?

A second semi-unrelated question, will you change the scouting process? Phyr reached out to me on a semi-regular basis to get updates and provide training advice. Would you continue to do that and/or change that process?

A possibly simple question, but likely more complex: Where do we go from here? I do agree you overachieved getting to the finals with the team you had, and I think the conversation right now would be vastly different if we ended up not making the final four (which I won't lie, many of us though was going to be the case). Where does the fault for the lack of quality players lie and how do we try to get the USA team back to gold?
