I am not planning on training him in rebounding or jump range because i understand that they fill a ton of cap space, but are there any other things i should know? I was planning on giving him outside D training and Inside D training until he has prominent in both (And every third week or so I'll train 1v1 for forwards to get him up to proficient jumpshot, prominent handling and prominent driving along with prominent inside shot). Then he would look like this:

Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: star
Game Shape: proficient
Jump Shot: proficient +2 Jump Range: inept
Outside Def.: prominent +6 Handling: prominent +2
Driving: prominent +3 Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: prominent +2 Inside Def.: prominent +4
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: inept Free Throw: average

Experience: atrocious

I think this is very possible... What are your thoughts though? After training all this i would like to train passing and inside shot switching off for about 4 weeks and then back to training defense until he's capped (Hopefully i can get his outside defense to at least sensational and his inside D to tremendous). This is my ideal idea for him:

Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: star
Game Shape: proficient
Jump Shot: proficient +2 Jump Range: inept
Outside Def.: sensational +8 Handling: prominent +2
Driving: prominent +3 Passing: proficient +2
Inside Shot: sensational +4 Inside Def.: tremendous +7
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: inept Free Throw: average

Experience: atrocious

I calculated this and it put his salary at about 22k which is a little high meaning he could cap a little before then but As long as he has at least prolific outside D and sensational inside D I'll be happy. How possible do you think my idea is? Right now I am looking at getting him about 28 pops...

I currently am giving full training to my sg trainee. I luckily didn't scout and got him out of the draft and am thinking about training his big man skills as well to make him a great all around player. But here are his stats and and input is welcomed

Weekly salary: $ 14 431
Role: regular starter

It will take, assuming a lvl 4 trainer, roughly 13 weeks to train both IS and ID to a 9, and would only be a marginal cap hit for these 6 pops (roughly equal to 1 OD pop). While it will be painful to trail something that is relatively slow, i think he is absolutely worth the effort, especially if ones plan is to have him in a LI offense and against a LI defense at the SG position as the end goal.

I probably would lack a bit more on the DR even in an LI. I feel as if you could really get the JS further up and keep HA and DR a bit lower and end up with a better product. I do like where his OD and PA are set, and this is more of a difference of tastes too, but i do think that getting him to that 9 at each is going to help him compete with those trained properly in their inside skills, and i think furthermore that it will allow him to be a matchup problem for teams who don't have good well rounded players.
