Well his SG most likely had good OD and possibly decent ID, making it harder for your bigs to penetrate the lane, especially if they do not have good handling and driving. Many people say that you do not need that much ID as long as your OD prevents them from getting inside. It does not exactly work both ways.

The hole in your logic is self-evident. If his SF, which naturally is an SG, was being poorly guarded by a PF, then why doesn't it work the other way around? That is I was attacking inside so inversely my SF, a natural PF, was guarded by an SG in the post and should have been destroyed but it just didn't happen.

It's some sort of a glitch in the engine.

Your players at SF hit basically half their shots. His SF hit half his shots. But many of his shots are from three points. The other difference is his guard at SF will help prevent the ball getting to your PF because he'll have quite a lot of OD to help prevent a pass from getting low, while on the other end he'll be standing behind the line and your low-OD big man can do nothing to prevent him from getting the ball or, apparently, from shooting three point shots over him. There's a reason that the players he had at SF and PF are shooting 40%+ from beyond the arc this season and if you're defending them with big men, you surely can't expect better.

As if to prove my point that something is wrong with the engine, this match happens in the second league playoffs in my country

Could one of you guys please break it down?

HCA, rebound and his AF trashed his opponents (both fouled out).

Plus extra possessions between offensive rebounds and turnover differential, in addition to the FT disparity.

You make it sound as if a bad team beat yours. Your team is very good but so is his team. Let me analyze your two regular season games against him: the first matchup between you two was during the first week of the season so you can't really look too much into that. Your second matchup was an 11 point win for you, but it was a very competitive game. The game was a 2 point lead for you (90-88) with 1:32 to go in the 4th and it was only a larger deficit due to free throw fouling at e end of the game. It was by no means you "serving his ass over the platter". Your team does not suck. His team just had a better night.

I'll try to explain why you lost. First, he had 3 players score 20+ pts, while you only had 1. He also made 4 more threes, but he took almost twice as many as you. Secondly, he committed 7 fewer fouls and made 10 more FTs.

One more thing might be that his 2-3 zone stopped your bigs. I don't know if it was his OD, ID/SB, or both. For the most part, you had better GS.

I don't know besides what I've just typed. Sorry for your loss, man, and I know I've had stuff like this happen to me in the playoffs.
