I personaly have 155 facebook friends most of whom love sports/ basketball and would realy like this game,,,,,,

I have spoken with 4 folks who have quit Buzzerbeater in the past six months; the issues are pretty similar.

First, the draft system sucks....yes it has been changed but still you can end up with nothing in the draft. This is totally ridiculous, one guy who quit had put $40K per week to improve his chances yet with the new system it still did not help. I tend to agree this is one of the weak features of the game....the Draft.

The second common issue is the training system, single position vs dual position training, and the ability or inability as described by one coach to accurately instruct the number minutes a player is player. I tend to agree with this idea as well, it is silly to have to train 3 guys exactly 48 minutes to get optimum training.

The third issue is that training elite C/PF is not cost effective, coupled that with the fact that the game engine now IMO seems to prefer a RNG type lineup with PG/SG and SF emphasis I see the point. One guy told me that he was essentially ruined as he now had to sell his C/PF prospects at a virtual loss. (After a season of training he could not get what he paid for his prospects.)

The bottom line is these guys were not having fun anymore thus they quit.

Just a little food for thought for this thread in case the Mods are watching......

The Americans i see mostly have less time devoted. I think there is much more demand to do other things here. There is always all these expectations. Europeans seem to enjoy somewhat more time off.

Too many Americans are the instant generation that want it all now, there are no codes to get extra whatever, no cheats, this game requires patience and thought....

I had the number one pick last year and spent 40k all season. I got a terrible player and there weren't any better prospects in that draft. It sucked sure, but I wouldn't quit the game because of it.

Sounds like someone who wasn't exactly in love with the game to begin with.

The draft is better now, I'll give the BB's that, but it still has a long way to go to be great (like spending points to find out one of the skills of a player!!). It's like a 300-pound girl who lost thirty pounds and asks if she's sexy now.

Not yet, baby. Not yet.

I'm not sure why everyone is obsessed with the draft. Sure if you get a monster prospect you can either make a bunch of cash selling on the TL or train him up yourself to whatever level you like, and it's always kind of nice to train players that you actually drafted, but the draft is still largely about luck (even in the real NBA draft). And if you know a players salary and suggested position you should have a pretty decent idea of their skill distribution. But the point is that good prospects are always available on the TL. If you don't believe me just wait until a few weeks after the draft then search for 19 y/o with 5000+ salary. you can usually buy one for 10-50k. You can turn that player into a very good DIV player or a decent DIII player in a couple of seasons training.

But just because you don't score big in the draft doesn't mean you have no prospects available to you.

Well, some people have reasonable expectations for the draft. And some people expect their 40k a week to net some incredible beast of a talent that will be a future U21/NT star. The latter get disappointed very easily with the draft, and maybe the game as well, depending if their primary goal was to train the national star of the future from scratch.

I have not been looking to "score big" in the draft just to get a decent trainee. Not a 6'10" untrainable PG like ;a couple of years ago or the 6'6" PG with low potential like last season. It has been several years since I got a good trainee that I drafted and I have been playing since season 3. BTW I still have the first guy that I ever drafted.....Brad LoBianco...my starting center.....

The point is I recognize it is a crapshoot, I just hope/wish that BB continues to work on the draft process and not declare it a done deal. I would still like to see better definition of the players that we are drafting; like what are there key skills for their rated position, for example it would be nice to know a guards OD, if it is too low, he is worth drafting...as an example....

Stopping you mid-sentence to remind you that there are merchandising implications that surround players that you draft as opposed to those you buy, even if they're from the same country. So it isn't just "kind of nice," it can have a huge economic impact. Continue:

... but the draft is still largely about luck (even in the real NBA draft). And if you know a players salary and suggested position you should have a pretty decent idea of their skill distribution.

OK so you know more about the draft than I do, obviously. Help me out. I have a 5* guy who is listed as a C. Tell me his skill distribution. In fact, I won't even ask you to list all of his skills. Just tell me what his Jump Shot and Passing skills look like, and whether or not I should draft him based on that.

But the point is that good prospects are always available on the TL. If you don't believe me just wait until a few weeks after the draft then search for 19 y/o with 5000+ salary. you can usually buy one for 10-50k. Contrary to popular belief, BB doesn't stop at div IV (or even III). I could give a shit what would make teams in those divisions happy in regards to my draft picks, because I'm not trying to play in those divisions. I'm trying to survive my own division and make another run at the NBBA (spoiler alert: I'm not trying that hard, am I). If the draft is designed to keep folks dominating IV forever, then it must be perfect. That is, until you promote to III, and have only "decent DIII players" and your opponents have great DIII players.

But just because you don't score big in the draft doesn't mean you have no prospects available to you.

I never score big in the draft. {{Here's a bunch of irrelevant crap, feel free to skip: Since I got my team in Season 2, I've drafted 11th, 15th, 14th, 14th, 16th, 1st (drafted this kid, if you're keeping score: (7923262)), 11th, 14th, 14th, 14th, 15th & 15th. I've picked lower than 11th once.}}

If draftees were not tied to merchandising, it wouldn't make any difference to me. As it stands, I do care. If you bother to check my roster, I currently have seven guys on my payroll that I've drafted. Half of my team is former draft picks. Two of them play for me in games that matter; the rest of them are crap, I assure you. Those other 5 would not be on my team if they didn't come out of a draft, and further, wouldn't be there if draftees weren't tied into merchandising.

Please don't try to tell me how to use the transfer list. I can find overpriced 19yos without any help, thank you.

I'll just use this space here to apologize if I'm coming off as mean, as I'm pretty drunk right now. Oh, and if I haven't said so anywhere else, Garth Brooks can kiss my balls.
