Yeah...just got to keep going. I ran the 3.2km Mon, Tue and Wed, before going out to the folks place last night for dinner. While there I had two beers, pizza and did no exercise! lol I felt it today when I got back on track (literally and metaphorically). At least I had no soft drinks and am still drinking lots of water. Even better, I am knocking about a minute off my times each day. Nothing huge but small progress. Mind you, I time my self and just push myself a little more to be the previous time. Next week, of course, this 'pushing myself' will step up a notch. I will run further and have new times to beat. The timing of my runs isn't super important it just helps motivate me; gives me a purpose. BTW, I was shocked last week to get on some scales that worked properly...forget the 105kg I thought I was...wait for it...I was actually 91kg!!! My mates and family were right, I am looking better than what I had thought. This information only changes one thing...I now have a more realistic chance of getting down to a very healthy 75-80kg by the time the city to surf comes round in August. Sadly, all 91kg seem to be in the shape of a tyre round my waist! The proverbial beer gut!

wow awesom stuff Matty :D It always feels good and makes it easier when things arent as bad as what you think they are :D

I managed to go for a 1.5k walk tonight... Back is still a little tender, but it was great just to get out and do something! Hopefully tomorrow i can jump on the bike again, but i will stop at 5km.. Hopefully i now know my limits.. If not, i have lots of drugs left over from the Doc :P

It is amazing how quickly your body reacts.. 6 weeks ago the same 1.5km walk killed me.. today, i barely worked up a sweat and if not for the back would have done another km... My pants i was wearing 6 weeks ago without a belt, are now falling off without a belt :D

Shit...that sucks, Skyhookz.

...in other news, I have registered for two running events in the next two months. One is a 10km run, the other a 14km run. They will be good prep for my City to Surf run in August. I find that if I register early, pay the money, it motivates me to organise myself faster.

Swimming is on the books for me next month. Physio said i'll be in the clear in April.

Just in time for my cruise to Vanuatu Islands in May with the "soon-to-be" Mrs.

I've heard a little about the tough mudder and am curious as to what exactly it entails, Bainsy?

@ Leeroy, congrats mate...and, yeah, sounds like a nice holiday destination.

Love it! AWESOME! You have to let me know every detail once you've done it, Bainsy. Looks like you got in before it sold out there in Melbourne. I noticed they've got it in Sydney. Now that I have seen that I HAVE TO do it! Don't know when or where but I'm going to do it. Maybe they'll do a Perth event sometime soon. If not, I might have to look at traveling next year. This year is about getting back into fitness. Next year maybe I'll have a crack at that. Thanks, bainsy.
