You missed my point , I said every good all star player today played in the rookie all star good in their career and they get a rookie all star ring for it.

They where all star caliber, They have the potential to be great. the ones to be stars for their team and in the league. The one's who are endorsed more don't mean they are better.. Seth Curry of the golden state was in the rookie all star game and he is should have been a veteran all star player selection not david lee. Not everyone make the vetern all star but are all star caliber players.

Kobe and LeBron was in the rookie all star game because they had the potential to be great. Which is my point LeBron had all stars talent around him, so did kobe

Michael jordan lost many games of one on one vs players. he was not unbeatable. Lance Armstrong is apoor excuse of guy. He has no reason to been mentioned inn the same breath as Michael Jordan..

I understand it s a joke but Lance Armstrong is not even worthy of that..

If players beat Jordan, why aren't they doing underwear commercials with bacon neck guy and way too happy to squat in Jordan's face guy?

If you're not fond of the Armstrong reference, the next reference point on the scale of Jordan's ineptitude is Matt Millen's canker sore. I'm not a fan of Armstrong myself, from way back when he left his wife to tool around with Sheryl Crow, so although I am usually a stickler for detail and precision in evaluations such as these, I'll make an exception.

So let's consider my amended post:

Michael Jordan could have beaten all of those players(*) by 12 in a game to 11 and his player evaluation skills fall roughly on a scale between limestone and Matt Millen's canker sore (**).

(*) - Does not include players who got their own underwear commercials.
(**) - Does not include any excised body matter of any person who has had seven Tour de France titles vacated.

Congratulations I guess? Just out of curiosity, when was this? Didn't Glenn Robinson retire like 8 or 10 years ago? And he at one point was an all-star! Congratulations, by your logic (age/being past prime doesn't matter), you being on a team with a star like Lebron or company would make a difference. Why haven't you tried out yet?

Its was a long time ago back in 2001. The whole point is you need good players to win a championship. LeBron had players in Cleveland but he had better achance with the heat because of wade..

Like said before dwade had a old team of vetern former allstars and won a championship. Doesn't matter who you have its how you play with them

These two points seem contradictory to me

Ok, so nobody has won an NBA championship by themselves...

Hakeem Olajuwon 1993-1994 Houston Rockets. No starpower besides him. Led team in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, and Blocks. If that's not 1 guy winning a Championship than what is?

Point 2
D-wade won with all-stars past their prime...

Let's compare starting line-ups AND bench shall we?

2006 Miami Heat
Gary Payton (Age 37 in 2006 playoffs)
Dwayne Wade (Age 24)
James Posey (Age 29)
Udonis Haslem (Age 26)
Shaquille O' Neal (Age 34) Still Averaged 20 pts and 9 boards a game

Bench:

Miami
Antoine Walker (Age: 29) DEFINITELY not past his prime
Alonzo Mourning (Age: 36)
Jason Williams (Age: 30) Not past his prime either

NOW let's compare Lebron's 2009-2010 Cleveland team with Jamison and O'Neal

Starters
Mo Williams (Age: 27)
Anthony Parker (Age: 34)
Lebron James (Age: 25)
Anderson Varejao (Averaged 8 points and 7 boards per game) (Age: 27)
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (only averaged 7 points and 5 boards per game) (Age: 34)

Bench:

Shaquille O'Neal (Age: 38, thats a HUGE DIFFERENCE from 34 and only averaged 12 points and 6 boards a game)
Antwan Jamison (Age: 33-34, only effective in Washington)
Delonte West (Age: 26-27)
Jamario Moon (Age: 29-30)
Daniel Gibson (Age: 24)

This is exactly why age not only matters, but is the MAIN FACTOR! Im sorry, but you have to be freaking kidding me when your going to ACTUALLY TRY to compare the 2006 Miami Heat to the 2010 Cleveland Cavaliers. Shaq could still average close to a double-double when he was in Miami and 34 is not very far past your prime. Antoine Walker was IN his prime. You start to quickly deteriorate in skills at about 35-37 depending on the player. IN Cleveland, Shaq couldn't start over Ilgauskas...ILGAUSKAS!

Face it, Cleveland never surrounded Lebron with talent that was capable of winning a Championship, so he went to, ironically here, Miami.

Stats courtesy of Basketball-Reference.com

P.S. I've never seen a comment so stupid in my life as "Lebron had all star on his team... doesn't matter If they past their prime".......what.......What.......WHat......WHAt..........WHAT!!!!!!!!!??????????? SO Shaq at 38 is as good as Shaq at 25? Bird at 35 is as good as Bird at 24? Olajuwon at 37 is as good as Olajuwon at 26? Thats what your basically saying. Can't even take your argument seriously after seeing that comment.

Great post, although one could argue Antoine Walker was never in his prime, unless you're talking about him spending money quickly!

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.
