Hello Everyone,

Happy to be competing this season, good luck to all.

Promoted a little earlier than I was ready for so I feel like I am about to get stomped.

Any advice for a pretty new manager?

Thanks!

Welcome! I'd say just focus on training players and building your arena for now. I promoted to a III league early too, it's tough to be very competitive with the resources you have at that stage.

That's kind of the thought, I am still new enough to avoid the salary floor for a little bit and a couple good prospects, going to try to avoid relegation, but its mostly just about development.

I think I promoted, relegated, then promoted again my first three seasons haha. But I am also stubborn about training and will let it govern my team success. Avoiding relegation is definitely feasible if you’re more committed to it than I was.

Im in the same boat, team is definitely not good enough for D3 rn. I managed to promote without even winning the league last season lol. Just focused on winning the occasional game and training my young studs. Im sure im getting relegated this season.

Yea I think I am basically just focused on the draft and hoping to keep the fans from rioting. I will have to invest in a bit as my salary floor activates in a couple weeks. and hey your 2-2 with a positive differential so far, not out of it just yet.

In your position I usually buy 2-3 old guys for cheap to keep my team afloat. I’ve had some great seasons from 35 year old former stars.

Yeah i was thinking if my team is still competitive by all star break and the hopes of staying in the league is hopeful I might snag up 1 or 2 old guys to help with the fight! Good luck to you guys this season!

This particular league can be tough, I had to sell out to ensure I made the playoffs and didn't get relegated last year. Ultimately won a tiebreaker on point differential by 1 point... Felt the after effects at the start of this season when I had to sell a player who helped me last season for salary reasons.

Now I'm limbo in how to retool... My record is good, I'm in the green, and I have cash reserves but without selling a player or two I can't take on much salary...
