It’s why I’ve taken up the habit of paying attention to the “last online” date on my opponents’ pages. It can tell me if I can reasonably predict lineups, tactics, etc from inactivity, and it can tell me what sort of effort I should put in.

I feel you completely. I’m pretty sure I had something similar happen to me a couple seasons ago/before you dropped down here, and I was reasonably miffed about it at the time…

Side note, without spoiling anything, I hate the way your season is shaping up for you at the moment.
