The season long-awaited by cunning linguists everywhere is finally upon us! Greetings, all. And special greetings to Sofuegg, first team I ever played in the NBBA, and Sauk Centre Gofers the only other team I've ever played (Cup S65). I haven't scouted much yet, but I'm hoping to set up camp here for a few seasons until my training program gets off the ground again. I'm looking forward to matches with you all and keeping the forums a little lively. I hope everybody has a fun season!

Welcome to the league! There's a few of us (me and Chiefers, especially) that have been here for a while... I'm finally moving on from some long-tenured guards and rebuilding a bit, so it'll be an interesting season for me too

Hey hey sorry for not monitoring the chat closer. It’s certainly funny how this league has changed. Something like from season 63-67 I’d bet this league was one of the most competitive in all of Buzzerbeater. It was cutthroat with 6-7 Great 8 teams all being extremely good and with a couple losses of each other. Conversely due to relegation, Big 8 probably had 2 dominant teams, 2 good teams and the rest medicore. But for 5 seasons straight this felt like true purgatory. It’s an actually funny looking now how much the league has changed with Fenway, myself, and Telecasters earning tenure status.

It’s also funny seeing how Fenway, myself, and Telecaster’s strategies have changed over the years. Candidly, I did a hard pivot and am sorta in no man’s land. I was half attempting to be relegated but now I’m not sure that’s the move.

This message board was also much more chirpy back in the “ol days”.

This made me look back at the league's history and some of the storied teams and friends who've been through this league in the last 25 seasons:

California Supreme (trainer of NT contributors)
Sofuegg (former NBBA squad, still here)
WHAIGH (BB-Will's team)
In your face (former NBBA constant)
US DAGGERS (only US team to win three BBM trophies)
Alaska Alphas (Trainer of Jeff Amos)
Tucumcari Whalers (Former NBBA powerhouse)
Baker Street Irregulars (GM and player for 62 seasons)
ElectricTriangles (friend, NT trainer)
Vanaheim Norse (my former mentor)
southpaw army (my former NBBA foe)
High Point Heroes (8 in all-time NBBA wins)
Arizona Desert Storm (21 in all-time NBBA wins)
LionPride (newly minted NBBA team)
Desert Eagles (former NBBA Runner-up)
Upsyndrome (former dominant top USA team)

Must be a good place to launch from!

similar case here - my guard core aged well out of their prime before I ever got over the hump when the Great 8 was at peak competition, and now I'm debating whether I try a soft reset or fully tank

that's pretty cool to see how many teams have cycled through on their way up or down... I think I tend to make personnel changes a bit too slowly in this game 😂
