The North Caloocan Stand-bys are transferring to another city - Pasig.
The move was decided after GM Uiyu secured a part-time job in Pasig City.
"It is too difficult for me to manage two jobs in two different places. We have the money to move, and it is not an issue to the ownership." GM Uiyu said in yesterday's press conference.
"Besides, we cannot secure our homecourt in North Caloocan. The City Government cannot give us proper documents that allows us to play there. Senator Trillanes won't give us any assurance that we can stay there if he would win the next election. So, we don't really have any choice." He added.
The team plans to relocate to the Pasig River, using the revenue this season to secure an enormous arena that would cater at least 20,000 audience - the Umaagos Floating Court.
"Umaagos Floating Court is what its name implies, it floats and flows along the Pasig River. This will hopefully help us avoid land title processing, government permits, etc."
The new arena will also house multiple world-class restaurants that offers freshly caught Tilapia and eels, beach-like resorts, shopping malls, and five-star hotels. Within the vicinity are the team-owned hospital, police station, and firefighting department. Making the arena a city within a city's river.
The team will also rebrand itself as the Pasig City Incorruptibles. A testament to GM Uiyu's adoration of the Good Governance philosophy of the current Mayor, Vico Sotto.
"Along with the city's slogan of 'Umaagos ang Pagasa', we are hopeful that this team will inspire our fellow Filipinos to do good, so as our hope for a bright future would continue to flow in the heart of everyone." GM Uiyu remarked.
The team's logo, banner, and arena design are still pending, as the team's management is still looking for professional designers.
The team's relocation and rebranding are expected to start at the start of the next season.
