While reporters were busy interviewing the victors, Kinky sat on his bottom, feet resting either side of the half court line, the Australian Battlers Tournament Trophy at his back. As he rested his light weight frame on the heavy trophy, his eyes curiously wandered about what he could see of the i like cheese arena's 19,455 in attendance.
Finally, his eyes stopped. Finding what he was looking for, he slowly rose to his feet, a slight smirk on his flushed face. He pointed towards a well-known figure in ABBL circles: his recently defeated opposing coach. He turned back towards his newly acquired trophy and attempted to pick it up. Before he failed to do so, Aussie underdog legend, Joey Sercombe, helped him raise the trophy above his head. Kinky winked in satisfaction.
Then giggled uncontrollably, until he was lifted above the heads of his proud team, all of whom were chanting, "Coach Kinky" in repetition.
Kinky was a very happy young boy this day. He had not dreamed that this would happen and was very grateful for his team and organisation's hard work.
