Lions Tender Qualifying Offers, Sign 4

LA loaded up on veteran front court players over the offseason, as the roster sees a return to the deeper squad philosophies of the past, with perhaps a drastically reduced ceiling. "We've got a lot of new faces, a lot of new talent; now it's my job to figure out how to make it all work," said Trainer Aaron bin Suutin, "and make it better, of course."

In addition to bringing in young phenom Robert Kacinsky, the Lions also extended escalating multi-year deals to team-controlled homegrown prospects Phillip Holtz and Roy Ali. While the team doesn't discuss ongoing contract negotiations, sources says the platoon will make around $700k, $500k, and $150k, respectively, in season 66, as they share the daunting task of replacing departed all-world talent Leandro Scarsoglio.

LA forfeited all three of its season 65 draft picks in order to clear cap space for the new deals, and more roster shuffling is expected in the coming weeks, as veteran bigs Titus Spencer and Jacek Depzynski were both placed on waivers this afternoon, and may only have their spots saved by a deep and favorable run in the USA Tournament. "It's unfortunate, but, there's only so many minutes to go around," bin Suutin noted in his closing remarks,"I certainly feel better knowing that I can call their on their numbers if needed. If we do let them go, it was a move made by the accountants and the agents, not me."
