Rebels enter Season 68 with a new look!

The Hendersonville Rebels have had a busy offseason and GM Dale Brown has been a busy man. After a season of soul searching for an identity in season 67 where the Rebels started off as a bruising low post banging team which had basically been their identity for the last several seasons, the team from Big Lake Fieldhouse switched to a more run and gun team led by the triple threat guard play of Wolyniec, Migowski and Companys. But after less than stellar results the squad has retooled and revamped to be more of a inside out squad. GM Brown sold start player Pierre Companys and promoted Des Bunn from reserve to the rotation and it started to pay dividends towards the end of the season.
This year Bunn is joined by new starters Al Rosen, Xavier Hearn, and up and coming bigman Moshe Skutt, who join the face of the franchise James "The" Proffitt for a totally new starting lineup and one made up of 5 Americans for the first time in franchise history. Oriol Benavent, Wolyniek, Oscar Drabik and veteran and longtime Rebel Jochim Migowski will be the featured reserves as well as bigman Jean "the Ragin Cajun" Beaugois, who has rejoined the team after a few seasons playing overseas. The Rebels are also excited about this years first round draft pick Seymour Hyatt who will be playing PG and SG this season and will be featured mostly in the tournament to start the season.
Brown is not sure how the Rebels will finish with DIII.12 being a premier DIII league and mostly all the teams are excellent however he is confident that Rebels will keep improving and the sky is the limit for the squad.
"We don't have a single starter over 30 and the nucleus of the squad is young and hungry and will get better every week, that I know. I wouldn't be surprised by anywhere we finish, but I would be shocked if we were not competitive the whole way, that's what we expect!"
The Rebels have also undergone extensive expansion to Big Lake Fieldhouse and now seat nearly 11,000 with more plans in the future to expand the luxury suits and add more courtside seating this season!
